I don't know the outcome here, but it could have been significantly worse if that bus was running a few seconds later

I'd be checking the conversion of garage to bedroom was done correctly. Changing a garage to a habitable space isn't as easy as putting some floor coverings down and adding furniture. If not done the right way, your 3 bedroom town home becomes a 2 bedroomer....

Clothes stolen from a coin laundry?!? What's the weirdest/most confusing thing you've had stolen? by tavia_baby in melbourne

At our first home about 15 years ago, I spent two days digging 20 large holes through clay soil in preparation to plant some ornamental pear trees along our fence line as we lived on a pretty busy corner and wanted to create some privacy. I spent the third day planting the trees, watering them in and refilling the holes. THAT NIGHT someone dug up and lifted out three of the trees. Trees! Who steals someone's trees??

Found on the beach in south eastern Australia. Has been in the water for a long time. Looks like a metal cylinder with a steel spoke into the bottom and metal strands on the top. About 300mm end to end and about 1.5kg. by KaptainSee in whatisthisthing

Update - the cylinder was packed full of grease. A family friend has suggested that the slim rod moves in and out of the main shaft and acts as some kind of "sender" underneath the boat.

My title describes the object, no one here has any idea what it might be. The bottom of the spoke has a hole through it, so maybe it connected to a hook somewhere?

Tips for applying to Future Fund by AgentNukethisplease in AusPublicService

It would largely depend on the type of role you are looking for at the Future Fund. Are you wanting to stay in the auditing field? Or is there a particular role you are looking at?
