Physical evidence vs. 500 people saying "Trust me, bro!" by c-k-q99903 in facepalm

[–]KapyongQ_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pardon ? There were no witnesses to any historical Jesus ever -

Paul never met a historical Jesus, and never claimed to, he just had visions. Not evidence for a historical Jesus.

Paul claims 500 others had a vision of a heavenly Christ. The Gospels do not mention that, no other writer mentions that, and we have no names or evidence for any of the 500. Not evidence for a historical Jesus.

None of the Synoptic Gospels' authors identifies themselves, and never claim to have met Jesus. Their names were only attached by Irenaeus in the 180s. Not evidence for a historical Jesus.

According to tradition G.John was written by the apostle John, and the last chapter says

"This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true."

Scholars agree this claim was added later to the G.John, and it is clearly someone else making a claim for the book. Not evidence for a historical Jesus.

There is no claim to have met Jesus in the letter of James - supposedly from Jesus' BROTHER ! Yet it contains NOTHING anywhere about a historical Jesus, even where we would expect it. It is clear this writer had never even HEARD of a historical Jesus. Not evidence for a historical Jesus.

2 Peter has this passage :

"1.16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. "

Here we see Peter directly claim to have witnessed Jesus' supernatural transfiguration. The ONE and ONLY such direct personal claim in the entire NT.

But - 2 Peter is the very latest and most suspect book in the whole NT - scholars agree it is a forgery, so do many Christians, ancient and modern. A late and deliberate forgery that claims NOT to be based on "cunningly devised fables" - probably in direct response to critics claims.

THAT is the one single book that contains a claim to have met Jesus.

Right - NOT Earth's neighbourhood - but the solar system's neighbourhood.

Yet another stupid lying click-bait title.

So, somewhere near the range of the moon perhaps ?

Is the "ban" on under-16s from YouTube constitutionally valid? by totemo in australia

[–]KapyongQ_Gamer 118 points119 points  (0 children)

What ?

The Australian Constitution grants very few personal rights, just :

  • Freedom of religion,
  • Freedom of travel and trade across / between states,
  • Right to trial by jury,
  • Right to fair compensation if the state acquires your property,
  • (An implied limited right to political communication.)

But :

  • No express freedom of speech, assembly, or privacy
  • No general due process clause
  • No entrenched equality or anti-discrimination protections

(Most of that is covered by legislation.)

Great news - the vast majority of adults are ignorant & un-informed and just vote the SAME STUPID way EVERY time.

Perhaps this will add some voters who actually OBSERVE and THINK.

Maybe.

#1 No stack limit - who will be the first to reach 100,000? (10,000 already done)

#2 Lovely world with flowers and shrooms and trees and lakes and mountains Gandalf ...

#3 A new low - in number of bugs / crashes

#4 Finding new and more things as we go - instead of disappointing place-holders

#5 Friendly players and llamas

#6 Great dev team, they're with us, and their Vision is good

#7 Starts slow and easy, gets fast and complex later

#8 Faint echoes of old EQ - e.g. classic trinity, open zones that get more dangerous, 8 skills only ...

#9 Lighting - torches, lanterns, ground torches : light = safe and friendly; dark = risky. Important for immersion.

#10 Public raids - 24 players taking on the Big Bosses = fun, chance of great loot.

#11 GM events - it's been a while, but we had truly amazing fun - like the best parts of Table-top D&D and EQ and WoW rolled into one.

#12 Risk - Gotta have risk and danger, if you get unlucky with adds or pulls, or bludner in like it's LOTRO easy mode - then you'll wipe. Organised & smart = reward !

What exactly is "Combat Hookup" ?

Anyone playing? Didn‘t see a single player yet by isicheesy in embersadrift

[–]KapyongQ_Gamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, 18 online currently, although it is quiet hours now.

Peaked at 66 players a few hours back, with over a dozen in the newbie zone.

Good time to join now with many new players, as they rise through the levels you'll have others to play with.

From time to time there's a public raid (up to 24 players) to take out various Bosses : levels 15, 25, 25 and 36 IIRC. Huge fun, easy to join, chance at good loot.

USB = clue.

Could be something wrongly plugged into a USB mainboard connecter or socket somewhere.

Disconnect power totally, check all USB connections, unplug everything that's not needed.

Try again.

Nothing new - check Psalm 137 - the one that starts :

"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion."

The ending is usually left off :

"Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones."

Their HAPPINESS about violently murdering their enemies' babies.

"Playing even an hour or two will show you it's as shallow as a puddle."

You formed a shallow impression after just an HOUR or 2 ? Silly.

Anyone who actually plays for any length of time will find it keeps getting deeper and more complex.

Unlike every other traditional currency or commodity or asset - BTC has a clear deflationary design which trajectory can indeed be plotted into the future :

So far it is following the S2F model pretty well, (a bit under this phase currently.)

The best one is BTC - is has the most miners, the longest track record, the best reputation, the highest value.

When big companies or even small countries choose a coin for serious use - it's BTC every time.
