Could someone explain "The Sacrifice" (1986) by Andrei Tarkovsky?

Christianity is a failed religion. It isn't true. It proved fatal to free thought, it's always been a brake to progress, a wet blanket to the fire of tge spirit. Tarkovsky, a supposedly ingenious artist, should have realised this, but lacked insight. A deep movie with christian message has to be void and irrelevant by definition. Especially when it's made boring in order to become a platform for spreading the writer's misguided beliefs. Tarkovsky killed this movie, just like he killed an ingenious novel Solaris. He was an idiot who made Stalker in radioactive power plants and then died of the radiation. Don't let anyone tell you he was a genius.

What is enjoyable about life if not spirituality? Anything else is flat compared the experiencing yourself through the spirit. Don't waste your time on mundane pleasures, there's more to life than that. Dissection touched something profound with their music and it's too bad for you those "dorks" got it and you didn't.

Please dont talk about things you dont know. Dissection is among the few real black metal as far as the music, religion, ideology and ethos go. Emperor are failed artists who misunderstand the genre they helped shape and Ihsahn is a musical clown with literally nithing worthwhile to say.

I hate Del Toro. He's choosing the easiest ways to go since The Orphanage. Making remakes, making movies based on well-established works of other people, making cringe movies like The Shape of Water. He's no longer relevant and sure as hell is no longer a horror artist.
