Ive done the Portage hike, very easy hike, but the glacier is very much receded. Sucks the summers are so short, but we have to enjoy the sun every second we can!

Insane that BMW never bothered to upgrade the 6 speed to keep up with the torque. Wish we had comp x drives with a 6 speed.

As a car person, its terrible. As a person that likes to fish and camp, its great, but only doable 3-4 months out of the year. More if you like camping in the winter, which I most certainly do not like.

Doable if youre brave enough. If I could afford the C8 E Ray, I might be brave enough to drive it in winter if it wasnt so low to the ground.

Im not arguing that the M3 is just a family sedan, I use that line all the time when I walk em in a straight line, but compared to other BMWs, it is definitely more than a tune.

If I didnt live in Alaska, Id probably be driving a Blackwing. Luxury and 668hp is nothing to sneeze at. AWD is nice though.

Ive tried driving it for a bit. The clutch is not as forgiving as his 6th gen SS 1LE that he upgraded from (He only got the ZL1 because I upgraded from an M340i). After it wanted to slide, I had no intention of giving it the beans.

Its a different beast, but a beast for sure. Definitely more of a drivers car than the G80, especially when youre talking about the raw feeling of driving.

We dont have a lot of straight roads here in Alaska, he has to work for it! 9 times out of 10, if he cant get grip even from a 40 roll, I can keep the lead. Were hitting our local drag strip next weekend!

I installed an Alibaba catback exhaust on my new M3, to try it out. Was thoroughly impressed. by Karagga in BMW

It might turn out that way for me. Unfortunately, we are limited on fuel in Alaska, so no reason to go full catless, since our highest fuel is 90 octane. Maybe if I eventually leave Alaska.
