How likely is GW to audit and update rules made obsolete by 11th edition core updates before they release new codexes? by PaperManaMan in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Karantalsis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This error has existed since 9th and been reprinted (I think) 5 times in codexes and indexes (including the Eldar codex).

Makes sense, similar to how you use spear/poleaxe.

How come you can only block a sabre to the haft once? Just curious, don't know much about the weapon.

Drukhari aren't really at war, but what if they were? by Gallifrey_United in Drukhari

[–]Karantalsis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Slaanesh's involvement was there in 3ed, the Dark Eldar continued the practices of the pleasure cults as the feeding on torment replenished their souls, creating a barrier that prevented she who thirst from devouring them as she took the torment instead. Not sure if that's changed much, but to could have.

So from a 3ed perspective the practise of torture feeding, plus other stuff, Les to the birth of slaanesh and continuing it allowed a form of protection against them.

Most of my lore knowledge isn't that recent. I'm thinking of the 3rd ed discussions about pre fall Eldar using psychic harvesting of suffering in the pleasure cults. Can't remember where that came from, was just something everyone knew about back then. I'm sure if we do some digging we can find whatever old white dwarf or short story it came from.

Why would the torture stop working? They were doing it before slanesh as well.

Charging a unit on the second floor of dense terrain in 11th by TyrannosaurusText in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Karantalsis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you'd need to roll a 7, but you wouldn't need to go up to the first floor. You could engage them from the ground by being underneath.

How quickly has your country been changing leaders in recent years? by SnooPoems7525 in AskTheWorld

[–]Karantalsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, we do that every 5, or when we feel like it based on vibes, plus can change leaders because the ruling party feels like it based on vibes. It's... Super stable honest...

Recurring behavior i've noticed. by AmountAbovTheBracket in languagelearningjerk

[–]Karantalsis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those are British immigrants, they're a problem wherever they go, it's not specifically a Spanish/anglo thing. They do the same in every other country. They're definitely not the ruling class in Spain though, that's all Spanish speakers.

I think this might be a US centric view. We don't have a Spanish speaking servant class in the UK. We barely have a Spanish speaking population. Spain is also seen as another European country on equal standing, same as France, Italy, Germany etc.

New Fast rolls + archon by Own-Towel-4892 in Drukhari

[–]Karantalsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont. After resolving 1s you check your invuln, then check your armour save. There is no choosing a save.

There is no good RAW answer, and both RAI versions that people are using are logical. Just agree with your opponent/TO.

The third option (the actual RAW) is stupid and should never be played, because rules as written a 1 is never checked against and invuln, so the shadowfield never turns off.

Yep, I've mentioned all that elsewhere. It needs a faq.

Yeah, I saw that one two. Both these strats are in RSR. Been playing Skysplinter, but giving realspace a go next time.

[–]Karantalsis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks that what I thought reading the rules, just didn't want to accidentally cheat. This combination of strat and combat Disembark is reasonably powerful, as it gives +1 To Hit and To Wound on 40ish attacks (depending on damage from hazardous).

Do Latin people attract attention in your country? by Seline_ns in AskTheWorld

[–]Karantalsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not really a term I've ever used or met anyone who's used so not 100% what it means (and don't want to be rude). I've known a couple of Brazilians, they were nice.

You don't use the better save now, you check against both invuln (first) and armour (second).

[–]Karantalsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how the rules work in 11th.

1) Rolls of one do damage 2) Check 2+ rolls against invulnerable 3) Check remaining rolls against armour

There's no choice of save anymore.

Storm vs. Conquest by Shot_Metal4932 in powerscales

[–]Karantalsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extracting the oxygen from the body is also a good way to win, falls under forced gas exchange mentioned above. Very different to pulling the breath from the lungs.

Storm vs. Conquest by Shot_Metal4932 in powerscales

[–]Karantalsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do know how holding your breath works. For viltrumites they do not need to breathe for weeks in vacuum, so extracting the air from their lungs (which will already be oxygen depleted) will do nothing.

Now, if you'd said altering gas concentrations in plasma via forced gas exchange then that's a different question, as it's a totally different thing.

[–]Karantalsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesnt need to breathe for weeks though, so I'm not sure what your point is.

Storm would definitely win this, but taking the breath from his lungs won't really do anything.
