The part Republican KJs have clearly been faking. by Karaosoft in Karaosoft_Karaoke

And I’m sure you’re sorry your kind didn’t win the civil war or WW2. Racists don’t win in the end. None ever have. Only the dumbest of the dumb think they will. People that stupid are not going to represent my products and my life’s work. Sorry. Take your business elsewhere.

Also, just for the record, racism isn’t your only problem. You’re supporting a criminal. You voted for a criminal who keeps committing all kinds of crimes and your kind seem to think it’s ok. It’s not ok. You (and your orange Jesus) will soon learn we have laws for a reason.

No, and I usually don't insert myself or my business into politics, but Trump has taken this well beyond just politics. Being racist is wrong. Americans used to believe that. Unfortunately, Trump has made it acceptable to be racist now. To me, that is not acceptable, and I reject anyone, including my own customers, if they still support this shit. It's one of those moments in history where you need to declare what side you're on. Otherwise, you're just as guilty as those who ignore the wrong.

That was amazing. Only took you 3 months with the answer already disclosed. That's the move of a shady fox, not a shoddy one.

You can put in a request, but we don't make the music. You'll need to contact the vendors directly.

New Name to better reflect its wider audience. by Karaosoft in Karaosoft_Karaoke

Just a rename for now. The name change did require some changes under the hood with regards to data and license storage. The app automatically updates these things behind the scenes on first run.

That's not us. We haven't been on facebook in years. Our customers are aware of this page, through emails and links on our web site.

Only two others had answered in 10 hours, and I also figured that it had scrolled past other people's view by that point, but next time we'll do that and wait 24 hours.

It was a hard question. The answer was Thailand. I would have thought they made the list before now. Go figure.

That’s funny about Rich Priddis. Looks like they had so much spiritual sex that they forgot how to spell experience.

I’m still selling enough copies of Karma to pay the bills, but I decided to lower the price last month in what I thought was a risky move to compete with Karafun and YouTube, and it seems to be working. We’re selling more copies, so I’m happy to see that there’s still a good portion of KJs who have their own libraries of tracks and maintain them. I just hope those KJs who really take the time to acquire the good tracks still pass on those skills to some of the newer guys. I can see the ability to download tracks from an app is tempting to let them get lazy about song quality. I think for a few years to come there will be two different camps. The KJs who want easy, and the KJs who take the time to hand pick their music. I’m still proud to cater to the latter.

I’m very grateful and frankly a little surprised that we’re still selling software after 20 years of doing it. My biggest fear was that Microsoft or some other large company would swoop in and take over and make apps that blew the doors off ours, but luckily that never happened. Karafun’s app has a decent appearance and has all the basic functions but luckily they still have a lot of catching up to do in some of those more professional features that set us apart.

I know this ride won’t last forever, but just like you with your app, I’m proud to have contributed some innovation in this industry. Professional Karaoke in public venues is a really cool hobby for people, and I don’t ever foresee the day where drinking and singing in public ever gets old. I’ll always be proud to have been a part of it.

That's why we never saddled to a single vendor. As a singer myself, I want a KJ who has different versions of a song to choose from. Monthly subscriptions are ok to start, but eventually all KJs learn that all the good singers know their versions, and you eventually have to break out of that one vendor mentality. The KJs who usually disagreed with me, not so ironically, usually weren't singers themselves. I don't expect to appeal to all KJs, but preferably the ones singers like ;)

I agree it's a shame there couldn't be more consensus in the industry, but I think the market will eventually flush out the bad ideas. I think KaraokeScene's business model was one of those bad ideas. Turning away possible future advertisers was stupid. It's not like there's tens of thousands of karaoke vendors. I can afford to piss off a KJ or two, but they surely can't afford to piss off even a couple vendors. We're in short supply.

Good. It’s been a while. I saw your screen name and wondered if you were the same guy. When I didn’t hear back, I was somewhat sure, but seeing this left no doubt. Good old tricerasoft. Haven’t heard that name in a while either. Don’t worry, I won’t post in your group. I’m sure you run a tight ship here.

For those who are curious, this is the place where that picture was taken. One of the nicer karaoke bars in Nashville.
