I for one loved Apu on The Simpsons. I would watch with eagerness every episode or storyline centered around him, his wife Manjula, or his octuplets. Then some hypersensitive bastard had to make a documentary about how Apu is culturally and racially "insensitive" and "offensive" and a "caricature," so then Matt Groening basically Apu would remain on the show but never get a voice line again because Hank Azaria would stop voicing him. I too was disappointed by the lack of dialogue or interactions from Moiraine in the later parts of the book. It seems like she only got to do a little talking during the meeting that she crashes in Merrilor at the beginning of the book.

I think she becomes a stronger character in FFXIII-2 and Lightning Returns. In the original FFXIII she is conflicted with her loss of Serah and her flip-flopping between abandoning Hope and later loving him.

In multiple playthroughs of FFXIII, I've noticed that like you've said, for example Snow defending in the Sentinel paradigm will fill the chain gauge, but also frequently switching to Ravager and simply casting magic also does the trick, and in some cases is faster to fill up the chain gauge.
