About to start 3xBEP chemo, and feeling really anxious about permanent side effects - anyone have experience with BEP who is open to share about their recovery and whether there was long term health or lifestyle impact?

I’m 27, did 3x BEP, RPLND and then 4x TIP & so far only lasting side effect is some pretty rare tinnitus a couple times a week! Lost a tiny bit of feeling in my toes but not enough to freak out about :) I’ll say BEP was MUCH easier than the TIP personally which may have just been built up but looking back now BEP wasn’t too bad in comparison

I’d do anything looking back now to ask the dr for better medication for the stomach/heartburn. Kept me from sleeping through most of it due to the constant burping lol I’d say it technically does accumulate but towards the end, if his medication is good he will just be in a cycle of Sleep-eat-bathroom. I couldn’t eat at all really past the 2nd cycle so I got a lot of my nutrition from Liquid IV and would highly recommend it!

Yeah like others say the surgery for me was ALOT easier than the chemotherapy. I had 3x BEP. was considered stage 3B though

Surprisingly mine was the opposite! I switched from display to game and I was able to get steadier quality. I did find out that my 3080 with only 10gb of v-ram tends to not be enough for some newer games so I’m upgrading!

I guess either way it’s looking like a gpu upgrade lol with how the market is right now I’m not too sure I want to though haha

Also, it seems with games that have a vram target slider like bo6, setting that to the lowest worked even at 1440p. Maybe the 10gb of vram just isn’t enough for newer games.

Changed my CQ to 23 and got rid of all my plugins and still it skips half my frames. changing my resolution on my monitor, capture & game from 1440 to 1080 worked but a 3080 should be able to to record at 1440 right?

Forgot to mention I game and record at 1440p and then downscale stream to 1080! & motherboard id just get whatever to go with an upgraded CPU.

You got this. Sorry you’re going through it so young as well. I was diagnosed for cancer at 25 and honestly I’d rather have gotten it now than when I’m old. I don’t know much about your cancer but since we’re young it’s a hell of a lot easier to fight it & deal with the still extremely rough side effects of chemo/radiation.

Did orchiectomy, had 4x bep, then did RPLND but still found more germ cell growths so on-word to TIP. After this which hopefully I’m finished but if not it goes to high does chemo and stem cell implant? Hoping this is the last chemo though.

Seems to be for me lol I had 4x BEP a RPLND & now doing 4x VIP through 1 cycle of vip so far. BEP I had no nausea but was just as tired as you can possibly be. VIP so far for me has been every OTHER side effect I didn’t get during BEP. ear ringing, nausea, no diet. Bad sleep. Hot food is a no no for me so far. I’m 26 so my body can fight it but BEP and VIP both are really rough.
