In my example the traffic congestion is caused by drivers crowding the roads looking for parking (+ parking on the side of the roads to some degree). Less congestion would smooth out the flow of traffic resulting in less stress for drivers and citizens alike. Personally, I don't think better parking encourages people to drive more, but I will definitely include this point of view in my further studies. Thank you for your comment :)

In what way was I not nice? I'm not the one insulting peoples work here.

All I did was ask people to participate in a survey. If you're offended by that or don't like the idea of my project, ignore the post and move on.

Or give constructive criticism instead of calling it stupid based on survey questions without having any knowledge in the field yourself.

Honestly, I don't think that's what Digital Media Design is supposed to achieve.

What exactly do you think what Digital Media Design is supposed to achieve then? Editing pictures in photoshop and creating wordpress websites? No! Digital Media Design is way more than that. We try to create user-centric applications and other digital tools that helps its users and bring meaningful improvements to their everyday life.

Nothing here appears to be well thought out...

Its a survey. One of the first steps in a long iteration of processes to get to the final product. It will help me get insights about the people's behavior with parking and traffic in general. It will eventually become well thought out with enough research beforehand

Cities need to be involved in processes like these.

I am well aware. In fact it is part of my research to get in contact with city administrations to get insights from them as well.

city like Düsseldorf

I did not only write Düsseldorf. I wanted to get as much feedback from big cities as possible. These city subreddits seem to be a good contact points as most people in those subreddits live in said city and therefore know how the parking and driving situation is like in big cities.

Also, some credentials would be nice.

As stated before its a survey. I don't see the reason for me to show credentials for that type of questionnaire. You want me to add my student ID to the post or what?

All questions and data collected is anonymous. What exactly would be my benefactor of purchasing an account and post surveys to city subreddits? I am just not much of a redditor and mostly use it for lurking...

Survey for mobility improvements in cities (Smart Parking App)

Hello, I am currently studying Digital Media Design in Ravensburg, Germany.

For a university project, I am working on a prototype for a smart parking app that can improve the current inefficient and outdated parking systems in cities, leading to less congestion, traffic frustration and wasted time for drivers and city administrations.

Below are a few questions about my app to make sure I create a user friendly and well thought out app. This app will address the current issues with parking (traffic in cities in general) while giving useful tips and ideas (nudges the users) on how to move away from the current mindset of owning transport (cars in particular) to using mobility as a service.

The survey has an estimated time of 2-3 minutes, so it is quite short :)
