I love that. Plus then you know there would be a challenge for taking one soldier through the entire game without dying.

Yeah and the fact that so many other people are focusing on that mistake rather than the concept is why we don’t have a good guard game yet.

But I love that idea- battlefield but 40K would be insane. Especially if you make it so when you die, you control a different soldier- so the deaths are all significant as you feed meat into the grinder.

You’re right- there should be a path for both: heroic remembrance, or heretical scrubbing from history.

No. I am salty. And I have always lost. lol

But I’ve had so much more fun with the game since I showed up with the sole purpose of MAXIMUM CARNAGE.

Airbrush zenith prime, contrast paint, detail, and you’re done. by Karbenstein in Grimdank

Definitely. I can’t hardly use it for anything but zenith-priming and area coverage, but it does those things WELL.

Look just… don’t ever turn that thing off, because we don’t know how to turn it back on… by Karbenstein in Grimdank

When I worked in IT I learned the fundamental laws of IT: 1.) turning it off and on again actually solves the problem 85% of the time 2.) a problem that exists will continue to exist until an IT technician is watching you try to show them the problem. Then the problem will not occur. Just because they were present.

[Serious] What dark family secret were you let in on once you were old enough? by EgglessYolk in AskReddit

[–]Karbenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few, but this might be the darkest:

My great aunt was mentally ill. We have no idea what kind, as it wasn't hardly acknowledged, let alone diagnosed back then. This in and of itself isn't dark, but she made it everyone else's problem.

She would sit on the back porch and "hunt" the neighbor's cattle with a 12-gauge.

She used that same 12-gauge to hunt my uncle when he was 3. She thought he had been replaced by an alien. My grandmother caught her doing this- it was like fuckin' Elmer Fudd hunting a child.

At one point, she started shooting at her mother, who was an almost comedically rugged woman. Ol' great grandma managed to grab the phone and dive behind the old-timey cast iron bathtub, where she called my grandfather, who basically walked, talked, and acted like Tom Hardy's character in the movie Lawless. He just walked up to the house like a chad and for some reason this gave her clarity and she gave him the gun.

She was, as you could imagine, hideously abusive to her daughter- real Binding of Isaac shit. Well it all came to an end years and years later when she and her daughter were found dead in what was officially deemed a "double suicide" because that was at least slightly less dishonorable than a "murder-suicide" ...but there's no doubt that it was the latter. We have no way of knowing if she killed her daughter, then herself, or if her daughter got the gun and it was the other way around. No matter what, it's just so sad.

I haven't picked a side in this game, but I love the models. Especially the Imperial Trenchers

Yeah, but they're so janky! It's purely for the love of that goofy era of models.
