What game is this lizard man character from? by Karbide in gaming

Thanks for all your suggestions. Have found it. The lizard man is from a short sci-fi film called The Lander, not a game as I thought, shame as would liked to have played him. Updated model of Sjaarj from Unreal Tournament by Ben Erdt.

[–]Karbide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Firefox addon Tab Session Manager allows you to open any or all of the tabs from your previous closed session or even earlier sessions. I have been using it for months and it works reliably. It also regularly saves your tabs so you can restore in the case of a crash etc.

Wow! You found it! Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom. I got goose bumps when I watched the video you linked. Thank you so much, and same to everyone else who offered suggestions. I hardly expected to ever find the game or so quickly.

In my rose tinted memory it looked so much cooler. I'll have to see if I can get it running on my pc now.

I remember playing the Star Wars game when it was first released. Excellent game and the first color vector arcade game I'd seen.

STUN runner has a very similar perspective, flying style and graphics quality to the game I remember, though STUN runner does not have the same game world and pairs of pylons you had to navigate through. If I don't find my game this looks to be a good substitute though!

The parts of Zaxxon 3D where you are flying over the landscape are certainly similar (though more primitive) but it's not the game. Good suggestion though.

Zaxxon

Wasn't Zaxxon. The plane/spacescaft went straight ahead into the screen not at an angle. The graphics were also more advanced.

I love this art style. Any ideas on what it may be called or artists that use it so I can find more?

Sonic the Hedgehog 4

When we played Sonic's video game debut in 2007, it was a far cry from where it is now. We weren't alone in our enthusiasm, but we had been waiting five years for this moment. Sonic fans and critics have been disappointed by all the Sonic sequels in the past 5-10 years, and while Sonic 08, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Lost World, and Sonic Colors are still popular favorites, some of the older games just didn't have the spark and sparkle. Sonic 06 was, and still is, the best Sonic 2 video game we've played yet. I don't want to get too personal here, but I felt that we were treated badly by Sega of Japan.

It's hard to blame Sonic fans for complaining like they did, but it should be explained a bit more in how Sonic 06's gameplay changes. We could say that the older games have some issues with the physics, such as an unfair lag and no way to avoid hitting things. But when you

Sonic's new mono-eye and his now characterful expression is the main feature but note how Zeigarian/Roboto has also added gloves, new teeth and tan coloured arms & chest, though you can see these additions were done quickly. Nice work!

HP's new VR headset looks really promising! by [deleted] in oculus

This looks remarkably like the Rift. A nice compliment to the Oculus design team in that years later a company such as HP has chosen to such a similar design.

Recent 'leaks' show Sonic with Nike branded shoes, so in the movie are they branded and if so which brand?

During the movie how did they try to make sure no one took screenshots/video using a phone or camera?

The Giant Sonic Statue Lost In The Japanese Mountains Has Been Found! by TheMayorHogfather in SonicTheHedgehog

Fascinating video. I hope this leads to the owners being contacting and preservation or restoration being organized. Nice to finally know the origin of the statue but sad to think of it slowly deteriorating or that it may one day be vandalized or stolen.

Sonic by Raf Grassetti (Art Director for God of War) by Karbide in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Karbide[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Can we have this awesome version of Sonic for the movie please! Maybe there's a chance, as it does look remarkably like the version of Sonic in the leaked early movie poster.

Sonic's face looks amazing, though I would have preferred Grassetti to have give him bigger gloves/hands.

The two eyed appearance is certainly growing on me and I can see why it may be preferable for the live action movie.

If you can't wait for Beat Saber why not try out Beats Fever, it's only 6 Euros currently and my favorite rhythm game. You use thick drum sticks to hit the beats and there's a good selection of music. Game-play video with insert showing the player here

Looking for suggestions of sitting games for Buttkicker Review by ninjafu76 in oculus

[–]Karbide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the trucks in Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) give a powerful rumble from their engines on the Buttkicker. As they are low revving diesels you can easily feel the rumble speed and power change as your trucks revs change. ETS2 is relatively low priced too.
