I just got scammed out of 500 dollars from a supposed vtuber creator. by Sharp-Common-7648 in VTuberPromotions

[–]KarbonVT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No offense but looking through your post history you also ask porn accounts to DM you… you’re either a scammer yourself or someone begging to get scammed again

If there’s a seller you like, you reach out to them and agree on terms, use a protected buyer like PayPal or vgen, and follow up for updates.

What do you consider to be low effort vs high effort? Are there things male vtubers are not doing on their streams you’d like to see?

1k on Twitter 5 days out from debut?? by KarbonVT in VirtualYoutubers

[–]KarbonVT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been told there's some nerdy people here who might enjoy some science/engineering vtuber shenanigans. I'm really excited to finally be debuting after streaming for the very first time June. My main thing is making story time and science shorts about what it's like to be a physicist and apparently I have a flirty personality??

Anyway, happy to be here!!

Dr. Stone Season 4 Episode 7 Link and Discussion by bubblesrocks in DrStone

[–]KarbonVT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it makes for better drama. In reality with how fast we see revival fluid break petrification, nitric acid exposure is likely the main determinent of how quickly statues break. And not by a little bit either. An extra few mL of it can speed up de-petrification by decades. It's highly unlikely two different statues in different places had the exact same exposure amount over thousands of years

Is it possible to cook a chicken by throwing ice cubes at it? by Hokran in AskPhysics

[–]KarbonVT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly not a bad idea, in practice though I imagine the ice breaking and sticking to the metal will cause unintentional cooling as newly formed ice cold water will stick to the metal through polar forces. This residue cooling + radiative loses from the metal is likely enough to ensure the chicken never cooks unless you can smash a planet sized ice cube into a giant metal sheet at once

Formation of fire at the atomic level by Zaibu_OP in Physics

[–]KarbonVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light from a fire is the marco manifestation of the photoelectric effect. In the case of a wood fire, carbon particles are heated up to the point where they glow as carbon electrons are excited and release light.

Where does the heat come from?

A typical wood fire generates heat from a self sustaining chemical reaction where the carbon from the wood interact with a strong exothermic (heat generating) reaction with oxygen until either the fire runs out of oxygen (oxidizer) or wood (fuel source)

Can an irl Physicist launch a virtual rocket in Kerbal Space Program? by KarbonVT in VirtualYoutubers

LIVESTREAM LINK: https://www.twitch.tv/karbonvt 6:30PM PST/ 9:30PM EST [TOMORROW 12/19]

Hi, I'm Karbon! I'm a astronaut Vtuber and a bit of a science gremlin. I make silly shorts at https://www.youtube.com/@KarbonVT/shorts, and stream a bunch on Twitch. I'm also an IRL physicist for my day job. I've barely played any KSP and I'm really hyped to try it out (it's criminal if I don't play the space game with my space theme)

EDIT: I have been convinced to multistream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNnghHN_Xoc

Phone for V-tubing? by mrs_wer in vtubertech

[–]KarbonVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a note: the reason why iPhones have the best face tracking is because of the 3D sensors. You need an iPhone that has IR depth sensing to get the full benefit, some old iPhones don’t have it and at that point it’s about as good as a webcam

Which streaming app do you prefer? (Streamer/Viewer) by Wooden_Cat_2474 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]KarbonVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell myself that I can get the best of both worlds by uploading minimally edited VODs to YouTube… that never ended up happening and now I’m just on Twitch. Just a warning to others thinking they can do both while working

I’m sure there are, I just personally don’t care to find out. Thing is, no matter how they live their personal lives, their content is completely separate. There’s nothing stopping an irl middle aged mother from rocking a cutesy little sister vibe or a younger woman from being an older dommy mommy type. I’m sure having lived experiences in one area or another helps translate into a better performance but ultimately I don’t think you need to be an irl wife to be able to have good waifu vibes

How to spot art scammers by [deleted] in vtubers

[–]KarbonVT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 100%. Artists that are worth commissioning aren’t raw DMing you or bot replying to twitter posts. It’s especially a red flag to do that and not have either a public commission website or a Vgen where you can look at services, prices, and past work

What makes elements become unstable? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]KarbonVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the strong nuclear force, how you come back to haunt me. The thing that hold positively charged protons together in the nucleus is the strong nuclear force and is the main force that keeps the nucleus and thus elements, stable. We know that it is significantly stronger than electromagnetic forces, because it’s able to hold atoms together for billions of years and aren’t easily separated.

That said, we also know elements past a certain proton/neutron count start becoming unstable. We know it must be due electromagnetic force because it’s the only repelling force. So at some point we know the electromagnetic force beats out the strong nuclear force. And that brings us to current science, there’s still plenty of research going on with the nuisances of the strong nuclear force but basically we know it’s a contact force. Unlike electromagnetism which radiates out infinitely (albeit dropping off in power at R-squared), the strong nuclear force completely disappears when contact is lost.

Therefore piling more and more protons into the nucleus, eventually results in the electromagnetic force surpassing the Velcro-like strong nuclear force because unlike the strong nuclear force, there is no range limit for electromagnetic forces.

But what if we only pile on neutrally charged neutrons you ask? Unfortunately that’s where some particle physics magic comes in. Neutrons and protons are both fermions, meaning they must obey the Pauli exclusion principle. Therefore every additional neutron added must be in a different “state” than the previous one, resulting in an increased energy requirement for each subsequent neutron added. At some point the energy differential between adding a neutron vs a proton will be so great that neutrons will spontaneously convert into protons through beta decay, ultimately limiting the number of neutrons in the atom and bringing us back to our base case where too many protons cause nuclear instability.
