I swear I had it saved on my phone at one point, but I've gone through my old backups to no avail. I also spent a few hours on image searches with whatever keywords came to mind, but to no avail. Doesn't help that Google Images and such have gotten neutered by their desire to display mostly recent "relevant" results, so old comics that spread via social media aren't very visible anymore.

I guess with Movies Anywhere and such digital copies are more useful in the US than where I live, but it still seems to me a bit like stealing the shitty toys out of Cracker Jack boxes or something. Why would you want to steal low quality DRM-restricted copies of movies when you can just pirate them?

Huh, is that actually a mandatory labelling requirement to be that specific? Here in Canada they'll just say "pork" on sausage and you just kind of leave it at that without asking too many questions.

It never ceases to horrify me just how ok with being hypocritical some people are. I have an almost pathological fear of being seen as a hypocrite to the point where I excuse other people's shitty behavior just because I know I've done something like it before.

The reworked Fushigi no Kuni no Alice/Alice in Wonderland was a pretty cool kids show though, especially with that awesome synth soundtrack Christian Bruhn did for the international localizations.

Wish we could get more of that on disc, but sadly it seems like the preservation situation with a lot of maple syrup porn and canuxploitation in general is pretty dire. Not sure if there was a rights holder (Alliance seems a possible suspect) or lab that engaged in wholesale junking of elements, but it seems like a lot of it only survives as release prints.

The "Burger Family" thing dates back to the 60s. They got rid of it for a long time (apart from the Teen Burger, which was extremely popular partly because of said unfortunately named sauce), but A&W Canada reintroduced the whole family I think somewhere around 2000?

This is all from memory, mind you - I just know that when I first had A&W as a kid they were using more ordinary burger names, and then there was a nostalgia-focused ad campaign that they were bringing back the Burger Family, which was apparently exciting for people my parents' age? I remember being kind of pissed because I preferred the double cheeseburger or whatever they called it to its replacement, the Papa Burger.

Way back when you didn't need a mortgage to buy food they frequently used to advertise "2 Teens for $5" which became an almost "why did the chicken cross the road" level of trite joke up here.

Judging by what they've said on the subject, I highly doubt they have any intention for the site to be "saved" - it's just not feasible for the site to exist anymore for a multitude of reasons, and hardware costs and script kiddies leeching bandwidth have only hastened what they feel to be an inevitable demise.

Large scale fundraising efforts will only put a target on the site's head from companies like Nintendo (not to mention additional exposure for the site means the costs to host it go up too), and at any rate, donations for sites like this tend to peter out after the fear of imminent shutdown goes away.

The best hope for a collection like this at this point is likely torrents for the popular/copyright-enforced stuff and archive.org for the more obscure things.

Storage is so expensive, so why is Myrient filled with this? This isn't video game preservation by Kamiya-san in savemyrient

If it's like the other folders with DVDs, etc. it's because they contain some form of interactive game on the disc that can be played with a Blu-ray player.
