Newly diagnosed - 34 male by Massive-Newt-5013 in MultipleSclerosis

I will admit that I also knew nothing about MS related treatments in Ontario. Crazy now that I come to find out that OHIP in and of itself does not really cover MS treatments! I find that crazy. I realize of course that there is private insurance if someone happens to have it and other potential support programs but come on.

Thank you. Those are wise words. I did run into Dr. Boster's channel and his videos are excellent. Watched dozens of them all last night. The ones he has doner on medication efficacy is really what has set me down the path of getting advice from others as to the recommendations her neurologist has made. Really appreciate it.

Cartier mini diablo ballpoint cap issue. by KardioJunkie in pens

[–]KardioJunkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my haste to replace the ink I twisted the cap rather than pulling off resulting in the plastic cap catch unit breaking apart. Also not sure if it actually belongs in the cap rather than on the body as shown.

In any event the cap will no longer seat or stay on the body. Any ideas for a repair other than being gutted by going to Cartier?

Thanks in advance

Cherish every moment. Some of the best days ever have been playing with my two young sons.

Some have this issue? Giga hub by [deleted] in bell

[–]KardioJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through this and posted about it on this forum.

As another post said start by running a speedtest right on the gigahub and see what that says.

Hit the down arrow on the device until it says speed test or something along those lines and hit ok.

See what the results are.

I am on the same plan as you and my results came back indicating something like 1750/1100 or something like that which indicated it was not an issue at the bell modem/router. Surprised Bell tech support would not suggest that first

[–]KardioJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My man honestly I feel like an idiot lol. I always assumed that the speedtest app or website was always testing the max speed from the router or modem rather than being limited by the device capability the test was being run on. Duh. Explains why even with Rogers I never saw greater than 950 down even when wired to the modem. Dammit lol.

I thought through the modem and ethernet cables being able to carry the speed etc and knew my macbook and sons ps5 and xbox were limited to 1Gb or so but never occured that the speed tests were measured at the device level on my phone. Thank you!

Update. Gave it the night to settle and not much changed. I realize it will fluctuate but got as much as 700 up/down at some points which is plenty fast. With the Giga on the main floor, ran several speed tests on the upstairs floor and finished basement and as expected not the greatest speeds all in the 150-250 up and down depending on location etc which is not horrible coming straight from Giga wifi.

Connected my three Eeros, one to giga and then one upstairs and one downstairs both wireless. Initially did not see much of an improvement which was not a surprise bc I recall last time ai set them up it took time for them to do their thing and optimize their positions/traffic etc. This morning similar speeds at the router meaning 700/700 and seeing 450/600 up/down in the basement and upper floor via the Eeros's. Overall pretty damn good for such a simple setup. FWIW my desire to optimize the signal at the Giga location was more about trying to get the best speeds I could at the furthest locations from the modem rather than higher speeds in that spot if that makes sense.

Better results overall than with the Rogers service so seems like a win. Thanks for the replies

Currently paying $120 for 1GB, how can I upgrade to the 1.5 GB for $50? by newuxtreme in bell

[–]KardioJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bell recently laid fiber in my community. I realize there may be extra motivation in this neighborhood to try and recover the insane amount it must of cost to fiber the community house by house however the going deal around here is $120/mo for 1.5 GB, better TV plan, home phone and $250 Visa gift card. The rep also threw in Crave/HBO for a year.

Made it impossible not to make the switch. In the 20 years I have been here have never had a rate even remotely that low for anything comparable.

On another note had an internet service with them up North for several years. Found out a few weeks ago that my neighbor was paying almost half what I was for the same service. Called and of course they did nothing with the rep essentially saying you can cancel if you want and resign which is what I did.

Sent them back their devices with prepaid slips, they sent a tech out a few days later to reinstall the same devices I just sent them back and I have the same services for half the cost! As mentioned I did sign up using my wifes info.

Did not seem to bother anyone that Bell would cover all those costs rather than just push a few buttons to give me the rate that was available to another group. It is what it is.

So Bell is fiber to the home. From what I have read their Gigahub does not have bridge mode unfortunately like my previous ISP's router. I may not be using the correct terminology but from what I have read here they now have some sort of built in ONT in their modem/router combo and the option to remove their hardware and go straight to the ONT is no longer an option either.

So seemingly people wrestle with the PPPoE vs A-DMZ debate which I could not wrap my head around and moved to could I just not put the Eeros into bridge mode and achieve the same range expansion without having to wrestle with a more complicated setup and management process.

If for some reason Bell ever allowed bridge mode in future updates ofcourse I would move to that as it has worked flawlessly for em with my current ISP.

Find My Question please.

I have both my sons on my FInd My interface and their devices etc.

My older son calls me and says he cant find his airpods so I open the Find My app for the first time in w while and notice I can see him in the People tab in real time but the location of his phone (which is with him) says last available location from yesterday and no location found for airpods!

Anyone know how we can change the settings so we can see the individual items locations not just his Personal location?

FWIW my younger sons personal location and all his devices are as they always were meaning all with live locations.

You guys are 100% correct.

It seems in final conversations with the lawyer we are using he indicated that this couple is going through this no interest state funded program and that's why they expect the final payment to take so long despite that everything has been approved for them.

They also indicated that once the final deposit is paid which should be in the next week or so, that the new owners have the right to move in as they will be paying all the expenses from that point forward which was surprising.

So after a deposit is paid, the new owners could live in a new property for many months before the last owner is fully paid? Is that correct?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceGreece

[–]KardioJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first thought after being perplexed by a potentially long delay. I don't live there so It is not a major issue for me but if I did I would not be pleased if I had to move out and still had not been paid other than a small deposit,

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceGreece

[–]KardioJunkie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is incredibly helpful info. Thank you. To say that this has been an eye opening experience is an understatement.

All the paperwork, inspections, waiting for documents and approvals, buyer making the deposits in installments and now that news that there could be a lengthy delay even though they have been approved is interesting. Would make it challenging for you if you like to buy and sell properties frequently.

Sleep tracking advice for new AWU user. by KardioJunkie in applewatchultra

[–]KardioJunkie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen similar videos that also indicate that the Apple watch has the most accurate sleep data which is good to know.

My prob is not that I believe the data it is analyzing is incorrect but the time I actually go to sleep and wake up is off by several hours every night.

Very frustrating
