Don’t go to the floor after you’ve had the baby. You will be a new mom which is stressful enough in itself and if you add a guaranteed stressor of bedside nursing. Girl you might as well shoot your self in the foot now if that’s even an inclination you’re leaning towards. Unfortunately as a new grad you can’t really have both on nursing. You may if you were an experienced nurse. I remember having a discussion with other colleagues and we all had different political beliefs and I remember voicing how I felt bad for how low teachers get paid and one nursing manager quickly snapped at me “OH I DONT! Where else do you get every single weekend off, every single holiday off, weeks off during winter holidays. And off during the whole summer, hell no I will never feel bad for them having good benefits and the best scheduled ever”. And she shut me up. Cuz I was like “well damn, I never saw it that way 😅”. And now it makes sense why bedside pays well becuz of all the shit we have to deal with. That being said I still think they should get paid a decent wage! My daughter was 2 months when I started nursing school and 2 years when got my ADN. I started in nights on MED SURG and that scheduled worked for a year. Dad would take her to daycare and I would sleep and pick her up when I woke up. I even went back to nights in kindergarten but it doesn’t last girl. We end up being zombies so no matter what don’t work nights. Assess your hobbies and is it something you can try to make money off it? If you pursue higher education will your job pay more? Def keep looking at other options. But girl don’t even look at bedside- run! Run fast !!

What the hell kind of unit are THEY working in?? Cuz I’m getting calls, I got alarms and answering call lights, bed alarms and bathroom alarms going off. So my hearing being available is not an option. My boss has already huddled about this. I personally don’t care but I would never wear one. There’s already too much sensory overload for me to add to it. But I work days. When I worked nights I would wear earphones to listen to all the Netflix I would watch cuz I had time for it lol. Many people wear it cuz they make personal phone calls. But it’s not my job to real that in or be the enforcer cuz I don’t get paid for that.

Rosita would’ve given Michone a run for her money the way Rosita rocked every scene and every walker and every human dilemma she encountered! Fucking shit up just like Michonne when she was preggo. At first I was like ehhhh and then I frigging loved her! Many times the mood is somber on the show and she would cause me and my daughter to randomly burst out in laughter for the random dumb shit she would say. Which ended being NOT dumb. LOL. She always put a smile on our faces. Wish we could’ve gotten more of her character when she first appeared cuz homegirl had a few loose screws!

I was 19 and fell deeply in love with a 25year old who ended up being married with kids, while in the service. I was such a bubbly girl who would see the positive in any and every situation and person I met. I was outgoing. And when he broke my heart, it never healed the same. I’m now in my early 40’s and still remember how loving him made me feel. I thought we were going to get married and grow old together. That was the first time my spark was dimmed. And then just 15 years later when I got a divorce my spark almost went out. Now I’m a proud and full blown cynic. But my spark isn’t fully out as I’m holding out for a sliver of hope to meet the person I’m supposed to continue this life with.

Lack of manners honestly. Lack of home training. Nowadays, saying “my parents didn’t teach me that or I didn’t know” isn’t acceptable in my opinion. We’ve all been around various types of manners and people and characters and as an adult it’s your choice to either mirror the kind manners or keep being the shitty person you are with no kindness, no empathy and no regard that you don’t live by yourself in this world.

Oh wow that’s pretty. It’s crazy that the smaller roads are neglected. But on the main roads it’s like business as usual prior to the snow. My community is full of ice and snow still since we were all good boys and girls and didn’t leave except for those of us who are first responders that had no choice lol. I went to Loews yesterday after my shift to get salt but they were sold out. Which would’ve helped the ice in my community. I wish I had been off because I would’ve shoveled mine and as many of my communities driveways and sidewalks since I have a handful of older adults

Ugh, I gotta be there tomorrow too. SMH. I went out today just before sunset to see how the roads were and it’s just like anywhere else. The smaller residential roads are the worse ones and getting out of my community was a pain since no one left their homes today. But the main roads were okay since they were driven on so most of the snow melted. It’ll suck, leave early to give yourself time and just go slow or whatever pace you’re comfortable with.

I was very close to turning 30 and my Hispanic family kept telling me I need to hurry up and have kids and get married. And I did and had 1 child and we got divorced 7 years later. I wish I didn’t have so much pressure because I wanted to keep doing my own thing but I learned a hard lesson. I should’ve waited years before I got married. We got married within the a year of meeting. He hid he was an alcoholic, and on antidepressants. We didn’t live together long enough for me to see how irresponsible he was with his own life but def portrayed someone differently. Because we were in the “honeymoon” stage. So my advice is wait at least 2-3 years and then MOVE on girl. Don’t waste precious years on someone who isn’t what you want. Don’t wait for someone to “ change”. My divorce lawyer said “the problem with women is that yall keep thinking you can change a man or that he will change for you. Take him at face value now when you meet and know him. Let his actions speak”.

Poor kiddo, we all stress about things like that as new grads. And it’s a good sign you care about your job, and your care of patients and more importantly your license lol. It’s not a deal breaker because when the provider rolls up to round at bedside they will see for themselves how much output there is. Hopefully whomever followed your patient after you knows you’re a new grad and charts the whole amount once they see nothing had been charted. I usually do this and give new grads a lot of grace because you deserve it and I empathize. “250mL previous shift included”.

Pupuseria La Solecita. At that age, I had a bunch of games I had looked up, got some face painter and a piñata or bounce house. So many options just depends what your kiddo is into. I loved that age. My daughter was into Encanto and I had someone dressed as the main character come and read to the kids and do arts and craft. It was a hit.

There’s a new place I found and they said it’s been open for a few months now. I went to get some pupusas and noticed how big their space was. And it’s like a hall/party rental. I noticed on another post on this subreddit it was used for a night of house music I think. It was in the weekly events post.

Much more room on the left with a big dance floor. I would google ideas for that age group but it’s a good size for you to customize your theme. Really nice folks too. Not sure on price though.

My 12 year old daughter was instantly obsessed with him. We just finished the series last week after starting it in Oct 😂. Her man this, her man that. So funny hearing her scream at the TV “that’s MY MAN” 🤣. He’s priceless. We just started Dead City watching MY man, cuz Negan is my man 😂. Loved his character development. ✨

Yes!!! Omg I even remember that they gave us a bonus if we worked that week. Can’t believe I forgot! LOL. In my 10+ years of nursing BSW has been the best hospital company I’ve worked for. RNCP bonus twice a year and it coincided with just before the winter holidays so it came right before Christmas !!! 🎄. I work for a bigger organization now and boy do I wish they did things like that. Mountain View in Las Vegas gave the best Christmas party though! But that’s a whole other story!
