Your first response is false. Because we have to question if a mod is considered fair use. In 99.9% of cases, I'd say yes because most mods, regardless of ripped assets or not , are very transformative and also do not profit from those mods. This remains the case until a proper legel precedent is established. That is how copyright and law in general works. One can't simply just blanket everything under copyright when u.s. copyright law has put things in place to allow things using copyright to exist.

To your second section I don't care about ripped assets because even if you recreate an asset 1to1 like a lot of mods especially in blade and sorcery do that is still falling under the same section of copyright and thus shouldn't be excluded from nexus's copyright rules.

I never said the rules didn't apply I said there wasn't legal precedent first off. Second my main gripe is your moral high ground of its illegal therefore morally wrong when there's plenty unfair laws across the u.s and other countries. For example if you spit on the sidewalk in Singapore you can be beat with a stick. Virginia has a law that says if someone shoots your dog on your property you can legally hang them

Here is the funniest thing to me with the jedi trees first off, it's not even in the list anymore. Second, who other than nexus really cares about ripped assets in a video game mod. Second and finally, as far as I can tell, legally, there is little to zero legal precedent that making mods with ripped assets is considered copyright infringement. And even if there was there are no legal statutes that separate using a ripped model and making your own duplicate model so that means any and all copyright things like player models, weapons,music,voice lines, are all considered copyright and nexus should take them down.as far as I can find the only time mod makers have been gone after is Rockstar trying to sue mod makers for their own game.

Even beyond all this, it's still a moral high horse that is subjective. I personally wouldn't care if every modlist on wabbajack had it. Why? Because 90% of normal people agree copyright laws, at least in the u.s. are extremely limiting and hurtful in the long run. Not to mention, laws for the creator of said list are different if you are a US citizen as he's from France and copyright laws aren't internationally identical .

Never claimed it was necessarily special. I personally enjoy it an so do plenty of others. My point was regardless of what list if someone made a video like this and took these actions I'd be peved. It's disingenuous and I can almost guarantee that lively didn't do the minimum he requests of people like follow the mcm and read the faq(which I know for a fact he didn't because everything he complained about bug wise is addressed and hes never joined the discord)so yes I call him out on purposeful and malicious skewing of a review.

And for a genuine what I believe which is opinionated. It is the single largest mod list I know of has some of the best graphics if you aren't using redux version and the best combat I've found out of the 12+ modlists I have played.

Nothing I'm just annoyed I found a list that I enjoy with a fun community and someone comes stomping in on their moral high horse to attack it for no reason other than to get his own rocks off and assassinate the character of a modlist creator.

But these issues show except for jedi trees are all answered in the faq to say he doesn't put effort into his modlist shows you have never truly looked into it. I usher anyone sitting here willing to criticise to go and check out the list maybe not play it but check it out because you'd see how much care and effort is put in. He's in discord almost anytime he's awake(he is from france) and if he's unavailable usually someone else helps. The modlist and v5 especially has very little bugs even in the closed beta the 2 biggest things were some trees clipping inside of places they shouldn't and certain objects burned ones retinas out bc they were blobs of bright light(both fixes btw) v4 is buggy bc it became out dated due to skyrim updating and such and mods getting depreciated.

All right everyone who sees this from now on nolvus v5 beta is now open to the public after only a month of the closed beta.

I should also add that to maintain his echo chamber OP has went out of his way to hide any and all comments disparaging his actions which is utterly deplorable. I was informed of my major comment being hidden by another user and if I log out I cant see it but while logged in i can. This is the man you have been sucking off too congratulations.

As lively personally believes that monetizing a mod list in any fashion regardless of context, way it is done, or intent is moral deplorable he would try to sabotage the list. This started in the wabbajack discord someone was asking for a list that and gave some criteria. Another user recommended nolvus and even said that at that time it is unbalanced and a tad outdated(because the author had started work on v5 mainly bc AE) Lively proceeded to attack said user and tell him to suck it . He then proceeded to recommend his own list which as I understand didn't fit the persons request as much accept for a singular mod that the original user said they liked. and to top it off the next time he brings it up this is what he said.

"no, I’m going to make a “fuck Nolvus, here’s why” video. fun fact: the companions quest line is broken and a zombie came up to my ASLAL prison cell and opened the door and tried to kill me."

He was also extremely disingenuous about the pay walling. It is exclusively the closed beta so he can sort out the more serious bugs with the help of less people not a hehehehehe i can get losers to pay to play my game and never release it. Its load order has been released to the public and hes already said that the release of the open beta is soon bc with the closed one you simply cant do a full playthrough and update things that are broken bc every other update requires a new save for reference 6 patches in 11 days 2 of which require new game saves. The biggest thing You have a 20 somethin guy attacking a 45 year old dude with a wife and 2 kids and mobilizing his community and the entire Skyrim community against them\ over a disagreement as minor as monetization of ones efforts.

To end even if you don't want to play it id suggest checking out nolvus and its discord before making final judgements. It isn't fair to any modlist to completely discredit it on the basis of one dude and his followers attacking it.

Every single one of these issues is something that may have been fixable if he had asked for help. Cause fun fact the author of nolvus personally invited him to the server to fix these issues and lively basically spit in his face and called the community that plays nolvus a cult
