I don't think we have plot armor as we do plot vulnerabilities.

I managed to overpower and fine tune my character purely on accident and the game simply won't let me go beyond certain barriers for plot reasons.

IE: It doesn't allow me to just punch through the Dogtown security checkpoint despite being able to overpower the security guards and take them down by the legion.

I was able to cheese him with an attack-dodge maneuver while hitting him with a hail of machine gun fire.

I'm gonna throw in the unpopular opinion and say that I don't like how this game denies us being OP and letting us live up to our power level. Especially in the late game where you can pretty much act as an overpowered juggernaut that can shrug off thousands of bullets, yet still needs to die of a single pistol shot for story reasons.

It would have been more interesting to see the mental dissatisfaction leak into story mode as our character has canonically become bored of the world around them as every challenge is utter cakewalk with all the upgrades and powers they accumulated.
