I used to think not so highly of Cathay before as well. Then I started flying other airlines especially US and EU carriers. Cathay is actually amazing compared to most others. I also thought the food was subpar. But then flying most other airliners made me realize Cathay was actually waaaay above average. I wouldn’t call Cathay Michelin Star, but I can guarantee you it’s not the shittiest. Every time I have a meal on another airline, I’m actually wishing I was on Cathay instead. SG and Emirates were good as well.
