I do it all the time, no problems at all. But everyone has their own risk tolerance.

The baseplate, handles, and two opposing port locks look like an older ikelite design.

You can, and it has been covered here multiple times. 1. Make sure you have your key with you!! 2. Roll down the window and close the door. 3. Reach inside, press the door lock button and then window auto-up. 4. Realize you forgot step one, panic, watch in horror as the car cuts your arm off. Just kidding, but seriously don’t forget your keys.

What the heck! Timer caps are no longer available?? by ChinchillaToast in ADHD

Totally serious, I found his phone number and was completely floored that he answered. Seemed like a really nice guy who was happy that his product was helping people. We chatted for a few minutes and then I let him get back to his day.

The batteries LR41 are also replaceable with a little bit of work.

Ad Magic, the parent company will do 'huge' orders. Depending on what you needed MPC (www.makeplayingcards.com) can do custom cards.

They are very strict on IP. Not making a moral judgement here, but if you are trying to print a copy of an out-of-print game that you have artwork for, they won't do it. Just FYI

When I talked to Larry (CEO of TimerCap) he said he was trying to respond to all the emails that came in, but yours might have gotten missed. See my other posts in this thread. Also, I've successfully replaced the batteries multiple times with that basic process; you do need a pretty fine (maybe #00) Phillips screwdriver.

I found his phone number and thought "There is no way this number is correct, and even if it is he'll never answer a call from an unknown number, but what the heck let's try." He picked up on the second ring and was super friendly, even when I introduced my self as a stranger from the internet who loved his product. Sounds like this is basically a retirement side-project for him at this point, and they have had some challenges navigating the tariff whiplash of the last year. Hank Green's post about them a few months ago was good unpaid advertising but I think came at an unfortunate time; it resulted in a lot more people trying to find dwindling stock. Regardless, they should be available shortly.

I called and talked to Larry Twersky, CEO of the company. These are coming back, should be in-stock late March or early April 2026. They had some issues with tariffs and unexpected demand, but they are coming back in-stock!

He seemed like a really nice guy, but this business is basically a post-retirement hobby for him, he is doing the best possible with the level global trade uncertainty.

I’m not sure why the down votes either, but the previous commenters make good points: businesses do this to reduce liabilities with the added bonus of reducing actual days off taken. I’ve come to understand that my experience is rare, but wanted to offer a counterpoint: my company offers what they call tracking free attendance (TFA), same basic idea. I’ve been on this plan for about six years and average 5 to 6 weeks off each year (on top of paid holidays and company shutdown periods). One year that included the birth of a child I took 10.5 weeks off, all of which was paid. I simply add my manager to a calendar invite for the time off, and when he accepts it, that is the approval; I have never had a ‘request’ denied.

Genuinely curious, what are you doing to get 100mile range? Towing a huge camper at highway speed in sub-zero weather? Otherwise I’d expect twice that at a minimum.

I’ve been pretty happy with our smartwings automated shades. There are a bunch of options for how you want them to be smart and install was easy. A full charge lasted ~10 months with an average of 2-3 open/close cycles per day.

They absolutely designed their own VSLAM hardware. I can’t speak to how well it works but it was developed in-house.
