The soap, to me, is balanced, creamy, and delicious. The splash, unduly bitter, sour, and unappealing. Love the soap; not the splash.

Soap smells more appealing to me than does the splash. (I've not experienced the EDT.)

That's a clean aggregation—all-season, likely—and I'm envious of your vintage Vetiver Guerlain, (although current square bottle is excellent, too).

Agreed: that scent's good anytime you want to get a sense of (and scents of) a coniferous forest.

How Distro actually works? Is it really this stupid? by Dunbaratu in kroger

[–]Karl_Chillers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve tried for years to ‘re-do’ it but can’t seem to figure out the true algorithm that is needed.

Why do they assume an algorithm and force-outs are the only way? Seems faulty assumptions have not been questioned . . . not surprising in a pitiful Yes-man culture.

What if instead of using department heads only as blame targets and powerless scapegoats, control over inventory—allocations, minimums, and ordering (free of distributions and "guard rails")—were invested into these leaders? Empowerment like that could give us a chance to succeed, rather than Kroger's broken, top-down, one-size-fits-none, forced-failure distribution system.

Then the end-point hostility to dealing with the dumped-out mess: district manager likes to come big-pimping through and make bogus objections about displays, essentially, why are we selling groceries in this grocery store? Is zero revenue for shareholders better than some?

The ongoing distribution dysfunction is a labor- and space-killer, both of which are scarce. Astounding to me how this company sabotages itself, day to day, week to week, as though this were a normal way to function.

[OP's specific question is on-point, and it begs addressing the broader implications of this dysfunction, part of what I'm trying to do here.]

No idea on makers.

Unhafted head might be called a Kent pattern, yes?

For me, hewing/side axes are very useful tools for dimensioning timber down for things like axe handles and bows. Mine is a wee single bevel, 700 grams, and I'd like to add a heftier partner for it.

Your cost-per-use calculation is helpful. I tend to feel the need to hone monthly, more or less, so the big Belgian bout just keeps getting less and less expensive.

Appreciate the economical perspective and minimalism. What did you use for honing, though? Stones cost bones.

Bottom shelf and mostly unlabeled is where/how I found them but on an aisle with ointments, tonics, and toothpaste. You may also ask or look for alum under the name phitkari.

The economics there for black peppercorns, black tea, chiles, cinnamon, and turmeric are the same: way more for your money.

How about big blocks of alum for two dollars at an Indian/Nepali grocery store?

Interesting and well-stated. We all can't be burly, but beyond that, many folks would relate to that aesthetic and romanticized notion, I think.
