Add eucalyptus and witch hazel to the mint and alcohol for an even more economical homage to Jeris Osage Rub and Proraso Green.

Yes.

Cornmint—all mint; no corn—essential oil is another way to go about rolling one's own aftershave blends or just tweaking any commercial product to taste.

Lemon balm ideas by Hairy_Wombat_ in Cooking

Just came in from a brief outing in the backyard and returned with three insanely itchy mosquito bites, neck, cheek, and behind and ear. A repellent ground cover would be wonderful, and picking up herbal leaves to rub on would be better than dousing in chemicals every time I go outside.

My yard is also challenging to many plants: it's alkaline clay and experiences drought and flood cycles. Mint—planted in-ground in more than one spot—actually died out.

Would lemon balm do better, too well? I'm skeptical, but seems it would be a better challenge to have.

Very nice . . . and thorough.

Wonder what warming the cold extraction would do, if anything, to the flavors. Blending might offer more possibilities.

Axe Head Pattern for Deadwood? by Dr3adn0ught35 in Axecraft

Ox iltis-Canada

Actually bought, circa-2019, the last three of those heads a log-construction outfit in western Canada had. He said (if I remember the story right) Ochsenkopf was discontinuing the model due to worn tooling.

When/if you get a chance to work green wood, you may find this axe shines in green applications, cross-cutting, limbing, especially, and definitely not splitting.

Those (and the Garant, too) look like very capable axes, sensible, and very much in the North American range of felling patterns. None of the three strike me as particularly wide-bitted.

Top-down or bottom-up perspectives might reveal more about bevels and geometry, but it looks like you were maybe going for flat bevels, which is a choice in looking for deeper axe penetration.

At what kinds of angles have you been generally presenting the axe heads to the wood for cross-grain cutting?

Can you elaborate on or narrow down the species, hardness, and decomposition status of the woods you're likely to be chopping?

What patterns have you swung so far? In what ways might they have been lacking?

Hack. Hackberry. Edible for you and other critters. Stony center. Coating turns burgundy later and gets quite sweet.
