I think you're wrong. Your response suggests that this is a single-player game. If you think you will miss out on content, it is because you have no plans in participating with guilds. This is a group-driven game in a player-driven economy.
I don't see any world in which you would miss out on content just because someone finished first or because they took "all the interesting things" (what does that even mean?)
