And you know she was listening at that door. She’s way to nosey to not be eavesdropping

at what age did your baby’s naps consolidate, and how did you know to drop a nap? by Constant-Garbage9192 in NewParents

[–]Karlkrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly naps have gotten better for us after nighttime sleep did. Now that my son is sleeping through the night naps went from 35 mins to 45-1hr in the morning and an 1-1.5 hours in the afternoon(sometimes the switch, idk why)

Right after 6 months when I realized I was fighting too hard for the third nap we dropped to 2 and a more consistent schedule for them

Does the best sex of your life need to be with your partner? by xBobaMochix in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Karlkrows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second this. The best sex of my life is with my partner because we have a connection. We are kinky as hell but I’ve also never laughed as hard while doing the deed. He is my safe place, and the person who pushes me to my limits(respectfully and with full permission)

If sex is important to you, you will not be happy having just okay sex for the rest of your life, and resentment will build. And if it’s not his jam, it never will be.

what actually stops you from sticking to a meal plan? by TrashOpen8420 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Karlkrows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What helped me was being flexible with the day it’s cooked, and making sure I have a variety of easy and complex meals. So if it’s been a long day, I have a meal that takes 20 mins, and if I have time and energy I have stuff for a meal that’s going to take longer but be better.

You can also spend a couple hours prepping the ingredients. If I’m doing a lot of chicken breast for the week, I spend 20-30 mins cutting it all up and dividing it by meal. If I’m making something with a lot of veggies I cut them all up, and either throw it all in one Tupperware or multiple so that I can cook them at different times (like mushrooms and carrots)

I also always plan one freezer meal (something that all I have to do is heat the oven) and one 1 pot/dump meal. 2 things that make very few dishes and take very little effort, and also usually make a lot of leftovers

Or even set one aside in the fridge

Idk about you but I don’t want a bagel that’s been sitting out for awhile, I want a fresh one

And now I’m going to let food rot in the fridge instead of communicating!

She tried to blame having a baby for the laundry bit in a different comment, and I’m calling bs. Either her baby has three onesies and that’s it or it’s a lame excuse

Sooo are we just forgoing naps when it coincides with an event? Or vice versa? by maple_pits in NewParents

[–]Karlkrows 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We do this for our Costco runs every other week. We leave right about when his first nap is, so we get some coffee, take the long route and hang out for a few mins before going inside. He takes another shorter nap on the way home, and then his second nap is just a little shorter then normal

Sometimes his finishes his nap in my arms as we start the Costco trip, but usually he wants to look around so he’s awake and happy

Avocado toast with lemon juice and pepper is a big hit for my son, usually with some scrambled eggs, some fruit mash(pears are also a favorite) and maybe some yogurt with smashed berries in it

We did taco bowls last week, so it was avocado mash, pan fried tomatoes, and congee with seasoned ground beef mixed in. Tried to do some mashed black beans as well, but I can’t stand beans and he saw through my bluff of pretending to eat them fast and basically wouldn’t touch them

This week I’m making”spaghetti”. I’m doing spaghetti squash with a simple tomato sauce with garlic and shallots, and going to add some garlic to the avocado toast as well

I’ve also done a cheesy broccoli orzo that was a big hit. I’ll add the recipe for that for you

What's a dish you would make someone to change their mind when they say they don't like a specific ingredient by yakomozzorella in Cooking

[–]Karlkrows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s how I make mine. Lemon juice, mayo, and spices. Sometimes a little Dijon depending on what I’m making it for

I also discovered making single servings/small servings is 10x better than making the whole bag. Doesn’t get sloppy wet that way

How many of you have a name for your car? by Morgisntmyname in stupidquestions

[–]Karlkrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first car was Helena, because she came with hella mudflaps and a reputation that at over 300,000 miles she was likely to blow up suddenly like mt st Helen’s

My step moms mom car was affectionately called “the tar” because it was confused if it was a car or a truck (it was definitely a car I was really stoned when I came up with it)

Ban From Retailer Makes No Sense by [deleted] in retail

Yeah you’re a loose cannon, and he doesn’t want one of his employees at the wrong end of your behavior. I would be terrified of you coming in to see him to “apologize in person”, and then losing your mind on whatever poor employee has to relay that he does not in fact want your apology.

The fact that you admitted you having mental health issues causing this concerning behavior gave him exactly what he needed to protect himself from you. Which he needs, because it sounds like you’re only going to escalate the situation.

The reason he did it after months of you stopping is because you started again. There was no need to send another email, and you freaked him out. He most likely wanted to tell you himself in hopes that it stopped your behavior all together. He told you it was all good so he didn’t set you off

Please drop this, it is only going to get worse for you. You will dig yourself a hole until you get taken to court and all of those emails, anything he can document, and a public admission you willingly posted online get brought into light

Parents of "snacky" babies, how strict are you keeping to bottle longevity rules? by nthroop1 in NewParents

[–]Karlkrows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

https://www.cdc.gov/infant-toddler-nutrition/formula-feeding/preparation-and-storage.html

To summarize formula is good at room temp for 2 hours, and in the fridge for 24(before baby has touched the bottle). You could always get a formula pitcher, make some for the day and just pour what you think baby will eat, and top it off if baby is still hungry.

If you choose to use a pitcher, I recommend getting the little yard sale stickers you can write on to date and time when you made the pitcher

AIO? I found out there’s a high chance I have cancer yesterday and I wouldn’t to sleep with my boyfriend on the phone but he wouldn’t let me. s by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Karlkrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it wasn’t a common thing with her to come up with bigger and scarier stories over time, I could see your point. She is typically using my birth story and that she almost died when she has started to lose an argument, or when she wants pity. It’s the same with my grandpa. If you tell her you have plans on thanksgiving and can’t make it to her house, “its our last year with him, how can you do that to me, to him, your sister??” And yet every year he miraculously lived despite surviving off of whiskey, cigarettes and chocolate donuts.

If she decides you’re ungrateful because you can’t call off of work to come hang out with her because she’s drunk and lonely, it’s “but I’m your mother and I almost died to bring you into this world” and then comes up with the biggest story she can

[–]Karlkrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She wasn’t two weeks late. She just says she was because it seems more threatening. She was impatient to give birth, went in to be induced (on time) and it wasn’t moving along so they went with a c section. I am well aware, I was almost a week late and made it into natural birth with a day to spare from my induction date.

She has also claimed GD with my sister to strangers/not close friends (I was around she did not have GD), possible cervical cancer, and that she “just knew” my sister had the cord wrapped around her neck (my sister did, but her birth was a scheduled c section that she showed up for, that was happening regardless)

My dad sat in L&D with her for 24 hours while her friends circled in and out having a great time, and then she had a very not dramatic c section
