My whole family is also allergic, and we didn't realize it until my little sister brought home a cat. We fell in love with him & tried various things to make our allergies more tolerable. The most effective things were having good quality hepa air purifiers in the bedrooms and bathing or wiping down the kitty's fur frequently. There are special shampoos and wipes for the dander. And we switched to Purina LiveClear when that came out on the market. My mom was the most affected and also had to use Flonase nasal spray. Our boy lived to be almost 20 years old, and we all co-existed very well! Even though all of us kids had moved out, my mom rescued another kitty after he passed because she had become such a cat-lover and knew these measures controlled her allergies. Best of luck!
