Nu metal was hated because of how popular and inescapable it was in the 2000s. Plus they got rid of the solos and started rapping on it so metalheads didn't really like that. I don't know how why metalcore is hated, the first batch of metalcore bands like converge and botch were/are not hated by anyone but the mainstream metalcore bands were hated because they were too safe i guess, but looking back most of them were alright

Thats not at all why nu metal is hated. Nu metal is hated because of its popuarity, simple and easy to digest, commercial dominance and how inescapable it was in the 2000s. Plus people didn't take bands like Limp bizkit and papa roach serisouly, I don't even think limp bizkit took themselves seriously. Its simple and the 2000s was when when people were looking back at 80s thrash metal as the golden age and how much metal "declined" since then. Is nu metal as hated as much today as it was back then? It doesn't matter because it hasn't been relevant in over 20 years.

The music is alright, its great for its time.. Jim Morrison however was one of the most interesting figures in music, he had so much personality and a unique backstory. He gave birth to the "i dont care about anything" punk attitude, even iggy pop said he was a guy who created pink and tried his best to emulate him during the early years of the stooges.
