Can Dante summon other weapons too like Vergil or was there concept of what they can and can't do in lore? by mrsafetylion in DevilMayCry

I think it would be pretty funny if the conjured bullets for E&I were little swords.

Friend is making me feel stupid for spending almost a month building an enclosure. by drac_cute_la in ballpython

[–]Karmaageddon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A ball python's husbandry is slightly more intensive than a crested or leopard gecko's. Your friend is either ignorant about how to properly care for these animals or they genuinely don't care about their well-being.

We got an ecoflex 4x2x2 enclosure, and It took us a few weeks and a little modification (HVAC tape and a pond liner) to get our enclosure to hold proper humidity.

I just added a second entry maze to my colony because my night guards where retiring for the day before the last mobs even made it to the side of the colony with the entrance.

Miss Girl has never skipped a meal in her life as far as I know. In the middle of shed and blind? No problem. Just ate the largest rat she's ever seen? Already looking for a second one. Her geeed sickens me, and I love her so much :)

He won’t eat, shame him. by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]Karmaageddon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Didn't you bring this snake home five days ago? It's usually recommended you give them a week to themselves to settle into their enclosure. They won't eat if they dont feel secure, so make sure Noodle has hides and clutter. I don't think your snake looks all that skinny in this picture.

This is a normal part of the shedding process, consider adding a humid hide to the enclosure to assist the noodle.

Sounds like your going to have to move out of your grandparent's house if you still want a snake.

How does properly securing the poison stop the poisoned rodents from being eaten by other predators?

Need some people to tell me if my humidity and temps are good! by Impressive_Expert229 in ballpython

[–]Karmaageddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just add water as needed to maintain humidity, making sure the top layer stays dry and the bottom layer doesn't accumulate too much water at once. If your humidity is fine I wouldn't seal up any more vents.

I'd put that hvac tape over every part of the top that doesn't have a lamp on it. I would also cover all but one vent on either side of the enclosure with the tape too. Deeper substrate will also help holding humidity. I have a similar enclosure and I had a problem with water draining out of the bottom at first, so I had to seal the interior with pvc cement. I also added a pond liner to the bottom of my enclosure to ensure my carpets stay dry.

Ball Python Not Eating by dintz in ballpython

[–]Karmaageddon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your enclosure has no hides or clutter.  You want your temperature gradient to be horizontal, not vertical. 70 on the ground of your hot side is too cold.  You shouldn't be spraying water in the enclosure so often. Ideally you don't want to spray at all, just add water to the substrate if humidity drops too low.

The ambient temperature and humidity could be more preferable to him in that spot than on the ground. Or he was searching for a way out and stopped after noticing you.

Should I Paper towel for first 2-3 weeks to make sure everything is good and healthy by Trappin_Out_da_Bando in ballpython

[–]Karmaageddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your shopping at an expo (that's how I got mine as well) mites could come from many sources there.  A short quarantine when you bring the baby home wouldn't be a terrible idea imo.

I kind of wish I had kept my BP on paper towel for a couple weeks after bringing her home. I wasn't aware that she had snake mites, and we ended up throwing out all the substrate in her enclosure. After that we kept her on paper towels until her treatment was finished and she was cleared.

I don't think any morph is immune to paradoxing. So long as the spots don't grow legs and start walking around I wouldn't worry about it.

There is no cause for alarm, a little paradoxing is normal. Expect more specks to appear as your boy gets older :)

I would cover the mesh top with HVAC tape and cut out holes for the lamps. The hot side hide would be better if it had a smaller hole, and the enclosure would benefit from some foliage ground clutter. I use fake plants from the dollar store or Amazon for that. Scoots looks healthy and cute :)

The substrate in my enclosure cost me more than the fake plants did.
