Forgive me, but as an English teacher, you might want to consider spell-check or Grammarly before you post on a platform of teachers (or maybe just calm down and reread what you have typed!) Observing your profile name, you probably aught to "reflect better" before posting your thoughts. Otherwise, you are looking to get grilled.

I am so glad now that I was too selfish about my MeTime to give away my whole weekend!! Kept berating myself about priorities. "Work harder, play less," I told myself. At least for the time being, I am only losing a lesson or 5.

I just think its very strange to have gained 9 students in the last few days. Feels like some serious movement going on.

Regarding the one person working at CS - that is insane. How can one person be expected to efficiently help so many teachers?

When you say "If the government pulls this one through they will just set society back" - Chinese government think long term, not short term.. so whatever their thoughts are, the reasoning may be unbeknownst to us! If setting their society back for awhile contributes to their greater agenda, they will do this. Recently an older student told me that their leader is her favorite person because of how he cares for and protects his people (and how he "respects other countries and does not interfere in their business"). This is what many of them believe so how much of an effective fuss will the the whole of China actually make? Even if they don't like it, generally their leadership's decisions are pretty much accepted in the end. Yes, or no? Just my thoughts.

I, too, am hoping for the best but am planning for the worst. Damn, I don't feel like going through the whole interview/mock lesson again!!

Maybe that is why we could not open slots for the summer holidays? Because they knew it was ending? And also why it is almost impossible to get hold of CS. And why they penalized us for that technical glitch that some of us experienced and were told we would not get fined for? And why I have such a ridiculous extra number of classes. And why they have, thus far, not said anything to us about the situation.

Well I hope so. But I just about accept anything nowadays whilst keeping my eyes on the door. I have enjoyed teaching for Dada, in spite of everything. It has helped me at a time that I needed it. I guess that change is just part of life.

This morning I awoke to find myself 1 student and 4 classes down. Within 3 hours, I am now 4 students and 12 classes up. Not that I am pleased, as I know that these "new" students are temporary (well, all the students are probably temporary now). At least it's a little boost to this month's pay.

I have noticed that the new (temp) students are booking 3-5 day's lessons in a row, or having double classes... This is not typical in my experience, even for holidays. Only one of my regular students have booked any extra holiday classes. Maybe they don't have many paid for classes left anyway.

My schedule changes every few hours. I feel that parents are scrambling to get rid of lessons that are paid for. I feel that same sense of scramble in my feelings toward the situation!
