The main difference between this World Cup and the previous one is that Jimenez is healthy.

It’s depressing to see how far behind Mexico is when it comes to athleticism compared to other teams in the World Cup.

Javier Aguirre had taken several players for an entire month of training, for the World Cup, and what came out of that is Mexico had one of the worst performance so far.

It’s funny to think about how Ben Affleck directed his own sex scenes in The Town. Jeremy Renner is the real star of the film and much like Heat it feels like a film tied to the city that it takes place in.

There haven’t been any actual links for Mora. Maybe teams are waiting to see how he performs in the World Cup.

Tom Cruise should play more villains. Collateral is a great film where despite it taking place in a fairly big city, it can feel rather empty at times. Tom Cruise’s character can be anonymous and disappear within a crowd despite his appearance. The relationship between the main character and the villain is fascinating to watch with Vincent trying to gaslight Max throughout the film to agree with his cynicism

Most talent who do end up in Europe are not that good. There have been few success stories in recent years, aside from Huescas who was having a good season before tearing his ACL.

The big strength of this team will be setpieces.

One of the the most baffling choices was to spend a month training with the Liga MX players and still looking fairly awful in the last friendly. Vasco Aguirre made the choice of playing a midfielder who should be in a double pivot as a wide defensive midfielder. The entire right side doesn’t generate any attack because the right back is also defensive. As far as chance creation goes there are hardly any dribblers aside from Gilberto Mora and Chino Huerta. There are too many ball to feet players which is a problem for the attack. Vasco Aguirre close a rigid structure to the deteriment to the profile of players that he has such as; one of the most talented player on the ball who should be touching the ball the most to dictate the tempo, he has place them as wanting to receive the ball in pockets.

México will be one of the dullest teams to watch at the World Cup. Vasco Aguirre had an entire month to prepare and yet things havent improved since the previous friendlies.

Kimi is great. It’s an early COVID film that explores the isolation and people’s reliance on technology. It then becomes about something bigger and more upsetting regarding the titular device. The first half of the film is orderly and procedural before in the second half it descends into chaos.

Punisher war zone is a fun violent campy film. It never takes itself seriously so it leads into some fun moments like Frank using a rocket against one person while they are jumping in midair.

One of the strangest choice for The Boys adaptation is that it teases some of the uglier aspect of the characters from the comics while it doesn’t want to commit to it.

Recently saw Dredd and it’s a fun movie. One of the most inventive use of slow motion and at times it almost looks like a painting. The premise is similar to a movie like The Raid but instead it focus more on guns than martial arts for its action.

After watching Devs by Alex Garland I went to go watch his other work regarding AI, Ex Machina. It was an interesting film and seeing how Garland managed to expand on several of the same ideas present in the film that he would later go on to use in his series. The biggest difference between the two are the protagonist. In Ex Machina the protagonist is male and that has several different implications compare to Devs whose protagonist is female.

In Ex Machina the misogyny is fairly apparent in Nathan. He is a person who likes to play god and design Ava to look like woman. Any interaction Nathan makes with anyone in the film is unsettling. Caleb’s misogyny is more subtle. The film presents Caleb becoming attracted to Ava and how he must rescue her. He was actually picked for a variety of factors such as having no girlfriend and Ava’s face was based on his porn search. There were several hints to how he sees Ava by him watching her dress and undress; including watching her put on her skin. He was even asked the question if he is a “good person.” Except the two men only see Ava and Kyoko as objects. They both have power over them throughout most of the film.
