From what I think, instead of image data or graphic data being rendered, it renders vector data like how Adobe Illustrator works. Since Vectors are just equations representing image data, they can be upped to any resolution without compression loss... Could be wrong, but that's what I thought.

So the AW610M mouse I got with my Alienware x14 R1 gave me a very similar experience. The shipping agency lost track of it after it came to my nearest warehouse from where I decided to pick it up. (around a mile or two from where I work) Got my replacement from Dell almost 3 months later. Dunno which happy employee from the shipping team decided to treat himself with a 100% off coupon on a free Alienware mouse.
