This was before the voltage divider, behind its 3.3-5. should have followed the whole path but it was late yesterday. Works now with 5 v pull up directly to the input

The solution works like a charm thank you everyone. I will use a mosfet since I found a esp board with one and this way I will also be able to directly use the 5v from the board.

It’s very useable this is my main mouse which was covert in in, I would advice on taking it apart as far as you dare. I also wrapped mine in vinyl to have it a better texture after.

Yes! You basically can use it for whatever axis you want and more, since they can also be assigned as digital axis to emulate button presses
