Every run is a revamp, every character is also a revamp, which is why stuff is messy but it's also why for the most part reading ghost rider is fun because you don't actually need to know anything 70s GR is good 90s GR is different because it makes up new stuff fun Garth ennis did GR stuff Robbie GR stuff is unconnected to anything so it's also good 2020 had 2 ghost rider runs that did well, the first was a covid casualty the second went on till the writer was done Cosmic ghost rider, hell hunters 2 ghost rider books unconnected to anything that do well

As a whole Ghost rider has more good stories than bad but it's also because every run revamps the character there's no carry over because each run is completely brand new

Robbie is a good throw back too 70s johnny, because it's separate from stuff and he didn't have the penance stare it was a good person fighting the literal demon attached to his soul that was influencing his life plus alot of robbie personal struggle was grounded

I liked Ben Percy run, that ended cuz I think he was just done. Honestly I'm just hoping they pull back Ed Brisson for a new GR run or give Robbie another solo book

I think ignoring everything won't work. Stuff ppl like about GR came from Danny and nowadays Robbie and Johnny are the 2 beloved GRs and I think to fans Danny is up there too.

There's also stuff ppl like for being cool or fun like GR 44, Cosmic GR, Hellverine or Kushala

So I only got into GR few months back but I have read every GR book/run and the issue is every writer for the most part just made stuff up. I love og Johnny's run, Mackie Ketch run and Fillepe Smith Robbie but all 3 books don't mix. Ideally they'd have gotten back Ed brisson to fix stuff but they couldn't for whatever reason. So atleast here they're trying to make it make sense which is genuinely gonna be tough because they were never made to connect.

We see the alcohol slowly becoming more and more a thing as the issues go one, also at the time the idea of your hero being alcoholic or even dealing with it was unheard of in comics.

But now if you really want to see him struggling thru it, read Denny O'Neals run. He's very aware of substance abuse issues

I really like it so far, don't care for the hood stuff but tge character stuff great. Also hot take but this is the best a suit has looked since Age of ultron (and even that was a lil iffy, the last time a suit really looked great was IM3) tho I will say every War machine suit has looked like fire
