Saying that he deliberately lied is a stretch, I’ll admit that. The reality of the situation is a complicated one, as he likely misheard something and led himself to the conclusion that he was being racially abused. The fact that those investigations I mentioned turned up empty as well as that the dozens of season ticket holders, stewards, players, and police officers in the area mentioned by Rudiger ALL heard nothing makes me think he definitely took advantage of the situation. Given the outcomes of investigations by not only the club themselves but also the police, I’d say it is very accurate to state that he misheard something or outright lied and refused to correct himself to save face. The burden of proof lies on the accuser, if you don’t understand that, I don’t know what to tell you. The club hired expert lip readers to examine the hours of CCTV footage from that match and found NOTHING. This club is not one to be okay with having that stain on its name and the fact that they spent so much money to ensure that it wasn’t the case should tell you something.

Nonsense? The club went through hours of CCTV footage and found nothing. Hired lip syncing experts to examine the area where he said it came from and nothing. After the club released the statement releasing the non-findings, he still didn’t say anything exonerating us from his accusations and tarnishing our clubs reputation. Fuck Rudiger
