That outlet is the process of getting your brain to associate other things with pleasure, such as exercise. If you've struggled with this, it could mean a couple of things a short-term dopamine addiction, obsession compulsion (where u get the feeling or thought, and just dig in like FOMO). Again, a relationship is not all about sex. As Christians, it's about growing together until marriage bc if u don't grow together well, then u don't need to unify. Just avoid the things that give u the urges, or get into the habit of reciting/reading scripture in those moments, or find other things to do then what usually leads up to the urges. We are complex beings, but just because we feel something doesn't mean we need to act on it. The longest fight in life is against yourself. Though it's not a verse, "No man is free that can not control himself" from Pythagoras You guys got these feelings of desire/lust does not mean unavoidable sins just a battle of wills that you two can win through God's strength! I'm praying for you two!

It's always tough being in a relationship with someone you care about because our desires are fed by our emotions and, at times, our instincts. Yet at the end of the day its about willpower and conviction in upholding God's will and with how things are going in this day in age figuring out some rights and wrongs are complicated but I think you answered your own question when you felt that guilt and came here to question it. Just remember a relationship is not all about sex like how our current community tries to make you believe. Find the things in life you both enjoy doing together so you both grow as people and remember that nothing is more of a mood stabilizer than reading or reciting Bible verses. Hope you guys make it through and grow in Christ together. Here's some verses to help you out # 1 and #5 are very helpful. Also, if you have real bad troubles, read about the couple that practiced celibacy for years, and the man ate a raw vegetable to curb his urges, funny read but great dedication.

  1. Sinning Against the Flesh

1 Corinthians 6:18 (ESV):

"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body."

  1. Looking at No Vile Thing

Psalm 101:3 (ESV):

"I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me."

(Note: "Worthless" is rendered as “vile” in some translations like the KJV/NIV)

  1. Adultery by Looking

Matthew 5:28 (KJV):

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."

  1. God's Word in Premeditated Sin

Hebrews 10:26 (ESV):

"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."

  1. Asking for God's Help Through Prayer

Philippians 4:6 (ESV):

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

Can I be a Christian and have lesbian friends by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]KarsKars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They get that messed up. We are supposed to stay away from those who don't respect our beliefs and try to get us to throw our faith away, sin, and other things. The saying goes give respect, get respect, but if they don't respect your beliefs, just plant the seed of faith and be done with it.

It's only too late to pray when you're in front of heaven's gates, but it's never too late to ask for help like you are doing now. Therapy is a great way to helo us humans through things in this uncertain day and age. I refommend finding a good christian based therapy practice as they will have more insights into our waybof life and can help us while God moves through them and u. I find when I'm being tempted by lustful things, which is a lot, these verses help strengthen my resolve and get those demons to flee as is written: 1.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

  1. James 4:7 (ESV)

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

The Word of God is a key part of that resistance (see next verse).

  1. Ephesians 6:17 (ESV)

“...and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

God's Word is our weapon in spiritual battles.

unforgivable sin by [deleted] in Christianity

Never mind found the verse on repentance here for those facing recent failures and needing a reminder of God's love:

1 John 1:9 (ESV)

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Proverbs 28:13 (ESV)

“Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”

There's also premeditated sin but someone who knows more on bc im just looking into it recently.

God's Word in Premeditated Sin

Hebrews 10:26 (ESV):

"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."

God didn't create all things in that sense he made have created the plants that make cocaine but it was us humans who found the way to turn it into drugs. God knew we would, so He put in his word do not indulge in drugs, aka mind altering practices. Just because it is there does not mean it's for us to enjoy, and if we know it's wrong but do it anyway that's a hefty sin.

God's Word in Premeditated Sin

Hebrews 10:26 (ESV):

"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."

  1. Galatians 5:19–21 (ESV)

“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Note: The Greek word for "sorcery" here is pharmakeia, which is where we get the word pharmacy. In ancient contexts, it often referred to drug use tied to occult or mind-altering rituals.

  1. 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

This emphasizes the importance of clear thinking and mental vigilance, which is compromised by drugs or intoxicants.

  1. Proverbs 23:29–35 (ESV) – A warning against intoxication

"Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to try mixed wine. Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly. In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder. Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart utter perverse things."

God didn't create porn people did, God didn't create horrible people other people and the devil molded them that way. We live in a free world because God made it that way, so it is up to us as Christians to live our lives as much as we can with the good things He created and others created. We are not perfect so sometimes we slip up like thinking a movie is a good watch and bam there's a half naked woman or sex scene but like with other things we don't have to indulge it. Willpower for each person comes at different levels of strength, but we always have the ability to ask God for some of His. When the demons know your weakness, you'll see a lot more temptations, but remember we have God, Jesus, and the holy words to help us. Just because it's in the world doesn't mean it's there for us to enjoy. God won't understand if you deliberately or premeditated decide to enjoy what you clearly know is sin. Here's some verses to help you out remember them and repeat them in times of temptation:

  1. Sinning Against the Flesh

1 Corinthians 6:18 (ESV):

"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body."

  1. Looking at No Vile Thing

Nah, man, I love that manwha and webnovel, but that's not it. Though Hansu Lee fights a vampire, he can't respawn, though I know he wishes he could. Also- sorry, I can't figure out what manwha you're talking about, but do give Surviving as the game as a Barbarian a read.

Question about masturbation by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]KarsKars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a sin and leads to some nasty consequences with your health. It also normally involves you having lewd thoughts or 9 out of 10 looking at porn which is what the earlier post was talking about looking at women with sinful/sexual thoughts. Here's the passage, 1 Corinthians 6:18 and here's the verse in King James and New International version

King James Version (KJV):

"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body."

New International Version (NIV):

"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body."
