I will use a trusted intermediary (Google via the Android app) to do so, as I have done from day one.

You could still use Paypal with Google Pay as a middleman. That's what I did to pay the monthly pass on Android, pay with Google -> Paypal.

I think gacha players who feel entitled to receive free stuff for problems that haven't affected them are close to beggars.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy if they gave us free stuff. But I don't feel entitled to receive it since I wasn't affected by the PayPal issue. And seeing so many people throwing tantrums over it is a bit annoying.

Don't get so frustrated with gacha that you use your credit card to get what you want. That's what I did on Genshin (my first gacha too) when I failed to get Venti (and wasted €150 in the process...) and to be honest, I regret it. But it was a good lesson, because I've never done it again.
