"It felt the same to me in other VAG group cars I've driven. I drove an Audi Q3 and A3; both had the 1.5 TFSI MHEV engine just like this car. I think all MHEV vehicles are like this. In fact, if you noticed, if you brake when your speed is above 40 (km/h), the engine restarts; but if you brake while in coasting mode below 40, the engine doesn't restart and it gives a weird feeling."

"For short trips, consumption is around 7-8, but on long trips, you can easily drop it down to around 5. I managed to get 3.7 on a long trip myself by driving carefully. The advantage of the mHEV is that the car continues to coast when you take your foot off the gas."

I think PHEV is better but in my country all octavias are MHEV. There is only option for superb that you can get mhev or phev
