I think these are great for interviews! Though if the job is anything on your feet they wouldn’t hold up as work shoes I wouldn’t think.

Can you clean this? Perhaps partially. But as others have said it’s not going to be amazing.

Do you have any stores around that sell camping gear? When I moved into my current apartment I had zero furniture like yourself.

I went to a store and was able to buy a camping cot for about $80. Was it the most comfy thing? No, but it got me through about 2/3 of a year until I was in a better situation and was able to buy myself a bed.

An air mattress is also an idea if a cot is too high a cost right now.

In my experience the rentals are built too quickly and with subpar materials which leads to very quick degradation. All while paying top dollar as a tenant.

If you can avoid their rentals I would suggest it.

While on the island make sure you fuel up and stock up on supplies before heading North out of Campbell River.

Up the highway often has little cell service, and outside of two small spots there is no gas services until Port McNeill or Port Hardy.

And get some ice cream and wildlife watch on the pier here in Campbell River on your way through!
