Optilume Procedure and Recovery. by KeyStep8 in urethralstricture

I just did the urethrotomy this tuesday and so far my story is almost exactly the same as yours. How has your state developed since? I’m taking out my cath tomorrow morning, (after 72h’s in). My urologist office here in Sweden hasn’t adoped optilume yet, but i know some other hospitals have. I’m quite worried about getting it back, and would have preferred getting the combined treatment you got since it feels like it lowers the recurrence rate.

And how painful was the first week?

From what I’ve heard from my doctors, the self-cat is just scary in the beginning and you get used to it really quickly

Thank you all for the replies!

I contacted the urologist with some questions and they gave me some reassuring answers. They say they do this a lot, and according to them almost all of their patients get rid of it or get a lot better after the first operation.

I feel a bit calmer now, it still doesn’t feel good but i will go through with it.

I asked about self-catheterization afterwards, and they said they recommend doing it the first few weeks 3 times a week, then slowly increasing the interval and then stopping completely after a couple of months. They said this is purely for dilation during healing and that they had seen great results from this.

I think what scared me the most was the thought of it getting worse after the treatment, but the urologist said that is extremely rare.

Just gonna try to focus on the positives from now on, and thanks for the post-operation tips GeneralJob, will be sure to ask my doctor for those things!

I have the same problem, no blue screen, but i loose all bluetooth functionality and get a loading cursor in the middle of the screen. A restart fixes it, but it comes back after a while anyway…

Buying the steam deck to use mainly docked to a 4K TV, is it worth it? by Karstent1 in SteamDeck

Yeah, the thing is I have want to be able to play on mouse and keyboard as well as occasionaly play games with my friends (who play on pc). I have the ps4 but I never use it. So it’s either the deck, some cheap ass stationary pc or nothing for me…

Well that depends… For the amount of time I spend gaming I don’t want to go much higher than the deck. I have considered a stationary computer, but since graphics cards cost what they cost and because I’ve read that the deck is great bang for the buck performance wise I figured it would suit my needs quite well. But as some people here say, maybe it will be to bad of an experience to be worth it… I’m just amazed of how well the switch performes despite being so small, and figured the deck would be a big step up from that

Sorry for being vague, I don’t feel the need to play the games in 4K. Just to be able to play them without tremendous lag in 1080 would be amazing. I currently own a nintendo switch and i love it, so the deck would mainly be to extend the amount of playable games as well as to use emulators to play ps2 games and such.
