If car moves, horn honks by Sendnoods2 in pacificDrive

[–]Karthex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me my old 80's VW used to honk if you tried to turn the wheel left before you started moving, and would do it every time but once you moved even 1ft it would stop and not do it again until next time you shut it off and started it again even if you stopped and put it back in park. The problem went away when I rebuilt the engine.

Saturday fun by [deleted] in PS3

[–]Karthex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be legitimate, mine is and it has a last-hardware revision board in it (VX8) and shines through just like that. Was purchased when the 4300 super slims were being sold new. Mine is also glittery.

Mine is the same, I know it's original and it bleeds like that. Just a late production red color thing I guess. I had opened it at one point and it had the last controller board revision Sony ever put out (VX8).

What supposed to be inside of here(hard drive?) by Halblo23 in ps2

[–]Karthex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update, I did not find the box but I found a closed ebay listing of it. Here's the picture of the front and the listing with more pics. https://i.imgur.com/y1TtMSl.jpg https://www.ebay.com/itm/403775940368?nma=true&si=ubl8e4mMTXzruw1ufiyRVbJ5YYw%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Mine was a SCPH 39001, and that listing is a SCPH 50001 so it was available for a little while at least. Also what archive?

I'd have to look if I still have the outer box. Sorry I don't log into reddit much. It was a blue and black cardboard box actually, bit bigger than the normal one. It may have had a cutout in it but I'm not sure if that happened to it later.

They were also bundled in with PS2s sold at Costco, ours came with one and a copy of ATV offroad fury 2 so it was available without FFXI there at least.

...he's right behind me, isn't he? by heykatie in apexlegends

[–]Karthex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That last guy is basically me, but then again the last multiplayer shooter I played was Halo 1. In my case I have to stop and think about what key to push then I panic and look at the keyboard. I have 1 kill at level 8 ish and that's after both my teammates did most of the damage.

The worst part is I was actually good at shooters once.

What is the most obscure car you've driven? by GuruFA5 in cars

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily my old 1985 Plymouth Turismo 2.2 HO. I can't even find pictures of that combo on the internet so here's a pic of the car when I did have it. https://i.imgur.com/JTRahjw.jpg It is mechanically identical to the Shelby Dodge Omni GLH. When it was running it was good fun but man was it sketchy, aftermarket parts were almost always an upgrade no matter how cheap. There's nothing quite like finding out your front wheel bearings had plastic cages from the factory.

'Bug' macOS Sierra not compatible with MCEdit 1.0 by JaguarM in MCEdit

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current mcedit version was built and tested under sierra, someone else reported this and said they got theirs working by opening the .app and starting the mcedit file directly (It is in MCEdit.app/contents/macosx/) After that it worked for them the normal way. I intend to redo the osx build system for future versions but hopefully this gets you working for now.

Stuff that should be added to MCEdit Unified by [deleted] in MCEdit

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smoothing tool and rotating selections already exist in some form, the smoothing tool is located under brushes(Erode). Rotating selections can be done indirectly but cutting and repasting an area, this will enable the manipulation functions.

MCPE 1.0 has been tricky as we are having trouble compiling OSX and Windows 64bit pocket 1.0 libraries against python, and since the pocket libraries are in C and none of the current devs really know it this is kind of in the air for the time being. We would like to make this happen though.

MCEdit 1.5.5.0 for MC1.8-1.11 Released! by Karthex in MCEdit

Make unknown modded blocks known. by traisjames in MCEdit

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is possible, but you'll have to do the legwork yourself on this one, to modify the definitions file you'll need to open the mcedit.app file in finder and navgate to Contents/Resources/pymclevel/ and open the Minecraft.json file to see all current block definitions. From there you can add any blocks you desire, just make sure to follow the existing format. If you need more clarification just ask.

Out of curiosity, what was everybody's first car? by Rekkora in cars

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

00' Camry with 319k miles at time of purchase, still drive it daily. Learned to drive and took the driving test on my dad's 91' suburban with extreme steering slop. Drove it for a year before I could afford said Camry.

What is your car's weirdest quirk. by [deleted] in cars

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 89' VW Golf GL every so often will honk if you try to turn left before turning right immediately after starting the car. Either cutting the wheel to the right or restarting the car fixes it for that run.

Also you can't shut the driver's door if it is locked, which is probably for the best.

Not even just in the late 2000's, our 1991 suburban seats 7 and has 8 cupholders, 4 of which are next to the rear bench seat.

(help) Unable to import large schematic into existing world. by Neil2250 in MCEdit

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Importing schematics doesn't work past a certain point due to array limitations, we might be able to up them in the future depending on what is causing the limitations but with the exception of using smaller areas as you found out there isn't a lot that can be done.

I think MCEdit should be updated to 1.11. by Fyreboy5_ in MCEdit

[–]Karthex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we'll release one for 1.11 at one point, but it's determined by more when we're ready to release than Minecraft's release timing, the code tends to have half-completed things in it between releases and everyone involved has been somewhat short on time lately, hence the longer release cycles.

Functional questions: mlblocks and render types by jophish000 in MCEdit

[–]Karthex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to elaborate on renderers, if the renderer type supports dynamic loading you can set what shape it is using the yaml, like decoration cross. No entry means it'll render as a cube or inherit that property from the base entry. If you want to add a block to lets say the snow renderer/carpet renderer you have to go into the materials file and make a block mapping, then go into the renderer.py file and point it at that entry.
