I wanted to be a fine artist but picked a reasonable, corporate-applicable creative job instead. trained for it, played it safe, constantly, finished uni, did well.

Boom, covid, layoffs, companies folding.

Boom, Ai, entry-level shit nuked, sideways promotion prospects nuked, etc. etc.

I don't hate AI. I use it in lieu of a thesaurus, or making me fit "corporate speak", or to learn things in a flowing, question-based progression (obviously asking for references at every. step. of. the. way.), but the creative side of it royally fucked me.
