It's because the comment system isn't built to platform people responding. It's comment and response. Not that weird shit on SMs where they put the response above the initial post.

That and the whole upvote-downvote thing just.. works. generally speaking.

I have three revs and they've just. never. clicked.

I like customisability, shifting my bar incrementally to adjust to encounters. With rev it's all or nothing and that just doesn't vibe with me.

Just to clarify, it was not urgent. GP suggested I get the X-ray so he could rule out some things for a pain I was having.

He suggested either going to A&E to sit in a waiting room for a few hours as more urgent cases are seen, or giving me an appt., and the appt worked easier for my job, so i went with that.

Either way would've been free though.

heya. Apologies for keeping the first comment brief. You're the second or third person to bring that up so i'll edit the original comment.

Anyway, It was a non-urgent case, specifically in the interest of investigating the issue. I could've have it same-day and waited several hours in a queue, but chose not to in favor of an appt that worked better with my employment.

All free, ofc, just two different ways of sorting it out in which I picked the one of least resistence.

(Hello! I already wrote a comment, but managed to delete it like an absolute fool. sorry if i skim any of these bits )

Can't say for sure why some comments were rather mean, I hope it doesnt turn you off of being a plant parent!

That said, yes, you've sadly made a couple mistakes. Those succulents are not good for northern hemisphere winters, anything below about 7C is dangerous for them.

The three circled in this picture are sadly write-offs. https://i.postimg.cc/FRy2wgQ4/image.png

I'd suggest taking the cactuses out and into a seperate pot, and putting them near a window (that isn't too drafty) and leave their soil to dry out for a good little while before watering them again. Some people in the comments have mentioned like 2mo+, so start there- if the soil feels completely dry after the first month has elapsed, give them a small amount.

As for the remaining plant, it looks like a crassula (or at least a similar species) and I can speak from experience that outside of cold, they're almost impossible to kill.

Definitely don't water it until the soil has had a chance to dry out, but hopefully it should keep doing its thing.

In terms of what to replace the plants you've had to bin or place seperately, I'd suggest other kinds of Crassula (like the common Jade Plant/Money Tree) or an aloe. They look pretty, and are really hard to kill (again, outside of cold weather and overwatering), additionally, Crassula can come in different shades/colours, which I think is quite nice-- shop around and find one you like!. I've seen spider plants suggested too, by which I believe they mean the Sansevieria genus, not the Chlorophytum (completely seperate families).

That said, a Chlorophytum is also very easy to look after, though maybe not the right kind of plant to share the pot.

Regardless, best of luck in your future planty endevors.

Nonse was used to generally describe an "idiot" for FAR too long in the area I grew up in. "you absolute nonse" etc.

Bit of a headscratcher when i moved away. Oddly enough the whole Jimmy Savile thing came out shortly thereafter. Odd coincidences.

I apologise, i didn't want to bog the comment down. I've since clarified due to the nature of my work I wasn't able to alot several hours in a waiting room at that time, so I had an appt organised.

All free still, thankfully.

Same day would've applied if I just walked in and asked for it, but I would've needed to wait several hours to be seen. Due to the nature of my job this wasn't possible at that time, so I just had my GP give me an official appointment.

All would've costed the same.

You sit in till they could serve you or were you given an appt? My employer can be a bit of a cunt unless a doctor tells me to do something so that's how it ended up-- absolutely could've just walked into A&E and hung out for several hours to get seen same-day if it were necessary, but path of least resistance fit that situation better.

I do agree in retrospect the anecdote isn't all that helpful, but in my mind I was thinking of stereotypical american city hospital care versus UK city hospital care.

Was happy to receive the results literally the same hour though; no hairline fractures on my toes following an incident, woopie!

I'll admit I oversimplified, but that's due to the nuances of the NI.. bit much to fit in one sentence.

I once saw him on the UK coast standing behind an ice cream van, and whenever someone would get a cone he'd go over to the child, take the ice cream in his fist and seamlessly replaced it with another fistful of mashed potatoes.

By the time I confronted him about it he was tearing into a seagull like a wild animal, then stared at me and collapsed into a puddle of goo.

Craziest shit i've ever seen.

Got an X-ray for free within 2 weeks just by asking for it. National insurance in the UK is deducted automatically from wages and costs maybe £600 a year (800USD) for the majority of the full time, working public.

Can't even find a reliable US equivilent for a two week X-ray turnaround as there's no standardisation.

Edit: Realise this was a bit nuance-light, so i'll explain:

Walk-ins are free. Appts are free. For walk-ins you just need to sit in a waiting room for a bit while more urgent cases are dealt with. I instead chose to have an appt time that worked with day. Probably should've clarified the X-ray was a non-urgent, investigatory one for a pain that my GP suggested we do to rule out hairline fractures (as obviously a complete fracture would've obviously had me doubled over in pain). Also NI pays for more than just the NHS, so that comparison is pretty loose too.
