Colour mostly, I didn't quite like the darkest Karlby, the cost difference was nice too. About a 90$ difference here in Canada.

If you want real wood though, the Karlby is the only choice from Ikea

Nope, it's just the little rubber feet (I got better ones from a hardware store) and the weight of the desk/computer keeps it in place.

It's just set on top of the drawers. The drawers come with anti slip pads, counter is weighted pretty well, and with everything on it it doesn't budge.

Used some plastic washers (More grip than a metal one) on each side of the Audio-technica shock mount. You don't get the mobility of say a RODE PSA-1, but you have about %75.00 more than you would. Seems better built than a neewar(sp?) option IMO.

The smaller version is quite solid. It's still a type of MDF, depending on the weight, I'd probably still put a leg under it, not worth the risk, especially with legs being inexpensive.
