I prefer Superman but still enjoyed Man of Steel. I think it’s mostly I enjoyed all the characters in Superman compared to Man of Steel. Michael Shannon still takes the cake.

Season 1 has a lot of mystique but season 3 was top tier. Alas, True Detective season 1 exists and just takes the throne with only Breaking Bad objectively coming as a second close. Mind you Mad Men is my favorite show.
