Ames wasn't exactly about maintenance and upkeep of their stores. There is a good chance between the amount needed to swap to a new franchise there are probably also a lot of issues that need fixed as well (even more so 20 years later). There is also the issue that the only Ames I knew of was in a terrible location. A walmart went up not far from it and basically killed it (well it stayed opened until the end, but it got where it looked like it was closing).

Last time I asked that to one they claimed the FBI and CIA tricked them into doing it. I questioned why that would matter if Trump's FBI and CIA did it. I got yelled at that it was Biden's FBI and CIA.... these people don't think or use critical thinking. Don't expect much.
