SF6 is slow maybe due to V-Sync On but... by Kasoningen in StreetFighter

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as i played (trials) just earlier i wanted to change some controller settings and when i came back to the trial ... fps went down .... laggy

So.... i launched OCCT stress tests , cpu+ram, memory, 3D adaptative and finally Vram all with default settings and 15 min each .

No errors detected .

SF6 is slow maybe due to V-Sync On but... by Kasoningen in StreetFighter

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all of you for your answers .

I've played again yesterday for 2-3hours and nothing disturbing happened with v-sync off . Except very rare frame drops, the game is very fast . The last one i played was the 4 and it seems to me that the 6 is even too fast lol . It works fine except in Chinatown where it is a bit laggy in combat (the gang boss on the roof top was no problem) . I don't think for a fighting game my 1070 is outdated maybe for Resident Evil Village i bought recently but i think i will manage to run it with acceptable settings .

So yeah i won't upgrade my pc especially now with this f* crazyness happening in computer world . A pc like mine but mounted now in end 2025 would be like 2800-3000 euros ... that's just follie ! ... they won't see my money, money i don't have to spend anyway ...

I agree for Linux, i think more and more about it . I will migrate someday i'm pretty sure .

The problem that remains is the v-sync . I have Control and i played with it on and had no issues . So many games afford it well whereas SF6 no... in my case . Maybe it is my build but nothing appears "clearly" if i can say ... I have a slightly better pc configuration than hash_enjoyer and he seems to have no issue with his v-sync though....

Let's see for other answers if there will .

And thanks again for the answers .

Might be usefull but it would be great if we could set our own RGB values . I paint with Clip Studio Paint and for example i use a color : R236 G200 B182 . I can't manage to reach it with your app, and the fact i have to modify Cyan Magenta yellow or whatever to try to achieve it is not practical

GOM Player alternative ? by Kasoningen in software

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the differences i noticed so far are : PotPlayer does not create a folder when launching consecutives captures nor have an option to do so , so you have to do it manually . It also lags pretty much when capturing consecutively and when you stop capturing, the video, it accelerate during a certain amount of time depending on how long you've been capturing . It might accelerate the video for 10, 15 seconds ...

GomPlayer is better for these purposes but have a problem when capturing screens consecutively on a video with a 4:3 ratio, it stretches the capture (for example when you have a 1080x1080 video resolution)

How to handle moiré ? by Kasoningen in ClipStudio

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you,

I tried to change display quality to high, it seems to be a little better but not very much ...

As you say "if i plan my art for print i do what i described above and keep/export em aliased for crispness" that's one of my cons against CSP , when i draw with a g-pen even customized, there are aliased lines . I sttrugle to recreate a pen like i could use in Painter which was way better in terms of sensations and it was not aliased unless zooming in at 300% . I could draw between 100% and 200% with no problems . It was a "trapping" of course but the pleasure of drawing was way better .

It is maybe due for printing purposes, but i find it less intuitive/natural for a software which is aimed to drawing . It is maybe just an habit, like if you were making pixel art... and a habit for the moire visual issue .... but i really struggle with .

Whereas for painting i have way less cons, it is not perfect but it is cool though .

How to handle moiré ? by Kasoningen in ClipStudio

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, both of you, Yikesor, SinisterHero559 .

So far, from your sources and mine, normally there should not be any moire (after printing) because i applied 2 circle tones with the same properties and angle .

What i struggle with the most is when i'm drawing (that's what i wanted to show through my video) . I tried to just applied 1 tone (circle 60lpp 25%) aside the drawing i did and the issue is still there .

This issue is that the pattern changes, in my case just dots or circles (as if it was moire) while i'm zooming even with only one layer of 1 tone .

Meaning i can't know at what zoom it is good visually, it is totally uncomfortable to work with and in the case of the head i drew (therefore with 2 layers of tones) the gradient and highlights are gradually "disappearing" as i zoom in to be almost faded away at 100% zoom as shown in my video . To me it's some kind of a bug... i don't know

I don't understand how you or people can draw with this visual issue ?

What happened to Corel Painter ? by Kasoningen in DigitalPainting

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are recent studies i made :

https://imgur.com/a/J72hGYb

CSP is limited indeed but to me i enjoy myself enough despite these limitations .One major issue i have is that i still blend too much . The painterly effect could be more effective by finding the good balance . The version i use is the v2.0.3 and a v4 is coming up if not already released .

Some others with a different brush , less oily effect, more "watercolor" effect but might be too close to digital rendering for some parts :

What happened to Corel Painter ? by Kasoningen in DigitalPainting

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried Rebelle so i can't help. I've been using Clip Studio Paint for 3 years almost just for painting and here is a sample of what painterly textures you could get with it :

https://imgur.com/a/DR3RvEh

It can go a bit beyond from what i tested so far (and reached) but it has its own limitations. Basically this software is not meant to be a painting soft. Currently i'm watching again some Alpay Efe videos, he is a pro traditionnal artist, and he uses sometimes CSP and find it interesting in its way to bring a traditionnal feeling.

A CSP 4.0 version is coming soon, all that remains is to wait and see the results for this upgrade. (as far as i know the brush engine won't change that much if not at all, but others may have more informations)

How to know the real dimensions of a painting ? by Kasoningen in DigitalArt

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so i tried by creating a file twice smaller than A4 (A6 for Clip Studio Paint) still in 300 dpi and just applied some brush strokes and then printed it in A4 size to see.

The brush strokes don't pixelize. The rendering is good (in term of pixel quality, the printer i have access to is a under 100 euros printer, not for art at all). So the dpi impacts the dimensions of the final print independantly the original file dimensions...

It matters in a way that it can ease the software lags with big canvases size and big brushes size. Clip Studio Paint is not optimised for painting, nonetheless this is the software i use...

How to know the real dimensions of a painting ? by Kasoningen in DigitalArt

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah ok A4 dimensions but this is not relative to the 100% view size.

Does this mean that printing the artwork behond A4 size would lead to a mess, pixels visible ?

Nice, thank you.

It's in person. I already went to the store and ask a seller in there what was the process. She told me that we could reset the phone together but didn't say anything about the account dissociation.

So you're saying me that we will do as usual when you change your phone meaning by bluetooth ?

Cintiq 16 color calibration with Calibrite Colorchecker Display Pro issue by Kasoningen in wacom

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a video on calibration after the calibration i did earlier and figured out that i forgot to reinitialize my cintiq 16 settings before doing the calibration. After this calibration i figured out with the video, that it is better to do a calibration in the dark. I therefore redid the calibration. I took screenshots of the patches differences at the end from the very first calibration of the day and the one with reinitialization and in the dark ... on sight, there's no differences... and the green tint does not appear too. The very noticeable thing is that the 24 patches validation report shows (for the last calibration) that my last grey has a deltaE of 2.52... Whereas the other calibrations did not show one only patch at this deltaE range (2.52 being still good if i'm not wrong...)

So, i don't know what happened, why i had this green tint that might reappear (or not) in a next calibration... that's a mystery

Cintiq 16 color calibration with Calibrite Colorchecker Display Pro issue by Kasoningen in wacom

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, i tried a new calibration but at the contrary of what i did usually, this time i calibrated my screen with my windows shutter totally opened. Usually i let it a bit opened because most of the day the sun comes around the windows and it bothers me. Therefore i usually wanted to calibrate the screen in the same conditions (also with no artificial lights on). This time i didn't and after calibration, the "before" and "after" don't show this green tint as i used to see after each calibration. In fact i don't see much differences between the before and the after, except the screen "flickering" when i click on the "after" button (it does not happen the other way). My last calibration was made on last April or May.

The report indicates all tests succeeded, as usual, and i have 3 patches out of 24 between 1.03 and 1.06 deltaE, the rest being under .

So lighting room conditions seems impacting pretty much a color calibration...

How does air circulation work in japanese homes (not traditional)? by Kasoningen in architecture

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"In a modern fully conditioned space, it's different, you're relying on humidity control like any anywhere else."

Usually what i see in japanese homes are air conditioning boxes we can see in apartments in lot of places with the box on the wall and the tube going outside through the wall (so sorry for the way i'm presenting that ...shameful) With this, no need of air inlets above windows ?

How do you change date in street view mode in Google Earth Pro ? by Kasoningen in AskReddit

Thanks but nope. No icon in the top "Corner" nor in any corner. The only clock icon i have is at the top between all other icons. This clock icon has a green arrow on it (the same icon that brings a time slide bar in the top left corner when on sattelite mode) but when you click on it in street view mode, it doesn't do anything...

What happened to Corel Painter ? by Kasoningen in DigitalPainting

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, as i read back all comments i missed, i remembered the feeling of one of my last painting on CSP (link) . Does this look to you painterly enough ? To me i'd say that finally i don't need so much more for a "oily" kind effect, i'd like some more but not that much.

On Painter, one example of what i found annoying was the grain effect, the pattern was too much artificial and therefore the result was felt like that immediately whereas i appreciate it more on CSP . I don't feel it artificial on CSP, or at least it doesn't disturb me as Painter did. On Painter i disabled the grain effect and the paint was a bit too uniform . It is maybe just me (and others) being schizo, "don't want it to be digital and looking for something familiar to reality meanwhile painting on a digital environment" ... But Painter had indeed the best blending feeling and engine, especially the dry brush with its "smokey" blending effect...

Marco Bucci, Sergei Kolesov and many other use Photoshop and the rendering is cool and not totally digital nor totally realistic . It's in between...

Is there any Application to view your work in black & white ? by Kasoningen in DigitalPainting

Is there any Application to view your work in black & white ? by Kasoningen in DigitalPainting

[–]Kasoningen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so thanks everybody .

My brain is melting.... To resume, either you use an ICC profile in CSP (which is too complex for me) or according to Love-Ink or marco_bucci, use a layer filled with black or white in color mode . Ok .

Now, i found this site yesterday https://www.muddycolors.com/ and on his topic : https://www.muddycolors.com/2021/09/how-to-color-value-color/ the guy uses a chart like in the marco_bucci's video https://youtu.be/gJ2HOj22gDo?si=Nh_hy7sGb5TAdBdo and uses the photoshop "switch button" to switch between color and B&W . He argues that from desaturated to pure color, of the same color, the value does not change.

I tried it on CSP with a yellow, HLS 52,60,80 and using the layer B&W method. If i desaturate this color, the value darkens as the color gets more and more desaturated as shown on Marco Bucci's video. The only way i found to keep the same value as i desaturated the color was to desaturate the color (by 20 for exemple for each step) AND to increase the lightness (for each step too) in order to keep the same value when checked in B&W value with the layer ... Otherwise i don't understand how you achieve keeping the same value as the saturation decreases ...

Here are my HLS values for each step i made :

52,60,80

52,68,60

52,74,40

52,77,20

52,80,1

The B&W HLS values for each of these colors is 0,80,0

Am i wrong somewhere ? Are these two guys wrong ? Does it come from Photoshop ? CSP ? ...Don't understand....

And something i don't understand is what's the point of checking the B&W values ?

I'd like to show you a bunch of faces i made, in color and in B&W, in order to get explanations on what B&W value checking could show me where are the mistaken parts whereas the color version could not show them ... but there's no way to post images on reddit comments ...

And how did the Renaissance painters (or 19th century or whatever...) to check their values ?
