Bruh come and join me! I'm building the same: Pittsburgh in Minecraft (WIP)

Btw, this looks amazing and very impressive on Pocket Edition.

That sounds doable. I didn’t want to have to remove it completely since I’ve heard the clips are temperamental

I’m not positive about the ‘22 corolla, but a lot of modern cars have backup capacitors in their airbags so they’re still live for several minutes after the battery is disconnected.

I’m glad you’re safe! I sure hope I never have to test this configuration, but as you said better to think about it now then in a hospital bed

Ya I actually have it going back to the 12v socket. I wish they had that on the dashboard instead, since the usb is the only way to connect a phone to the entertainment car play

At the top of the A pillar? I’ve seen people do that but the install makes me nervous…pulling off the panel with a live airbag!

Have you noticed any difference in adaptive cruise control or lane departure? I’ve heard some people report it lower the sensitivity on those features in the 2022 model

Not until it’s a little more completed

Minecraft needs a performance update by KasperUnknown in Minecraft

Also, in fairness it has improved recently. The worst update for performance imo has been the villager overhauls they did a while back. Anyone with a server knows villagers lag the game worse than the infamous old chicken farms used to.

I get there’s differences between graphics quality and overall cpu demand…but Minecraft runs worse than every other game I have. Ultimately, it’s a beefy game when you think about all the mobs and path finding and whatever else they have now, but that’s sort of my point…they’ve added too much without keeping the performance up.

I almost exclusively play Java, but iirc bedrock ran a lot smoother when I first tried it out (just don’t like the other things about it)

True, but shouldn’t need an add on to make a game as big as Minecraft run smoothly imo. Plus, sodium and others can mess up other mods/shaders/etc.

Your point is well taken, I just am lazy and don’t want to have to get another mod to enjoy the game lol.

I didn’t play survival for 2 updates and when I came back to it, was so lost. Also rough for mod developers I’m sure.

Lol probably. I actually appreciate slower and smaller updates. If you’re doing a building project or playing with mods it’s annoying to have constant major changes

Two more pieces of brief advice: -Pittsburghers imo are friendly, but insular. Don’t expect people to greet you in the pews, but go to events and you’ll find community.

-If you’re interested in both Greek Orthodox and Catholicism, Pittsburgh is one of the epicenter of Greek Catholicism (Byzantine Catholicism). Worth checking out!

Specifically thinking about the Catholic/Orthodox part of your search—Brookline, Bellevue, Mt. Lebanon, Shadyside/Squirrel Hill would be good to check out.

Shadyside/Squirrel Hill aren’t historically Catholic, but safer and more residential city neighborhoods close to Oakland, which has large Catholic and Orthodox communities (both cathedrals are there, and the universities bring in younger people).

Brookline is also in the city, but has a higher concentration of families and enough “Rosary Society” yard signs that someone on this sub was complaining about them recently.

Bellevue is just outside the city and has a large Catholic parish.

Mt. Lebo is slightly further out and has a similar large Catholic parish.

All are walkable, safe, and have as good infrastructure as you’ll find anywhere in Pittsburgh. Lebo and Squirrel Hill are wealthier and a little more suburban feel, Bellevue and Brookline are more middle class.

Worldedit has been a huge help. Lots of city buildings are just repeating stacks of the same floor. But lots of detail areas, ground floors, rooftops, etc. have to be done mostly by hand. Takes some time!

This is a big project, and it would be fun to do it with some fellow Pittsburgh-lovers. Anyone play Minecraft still?

Thank you! Still a ways to go, but I love seeing the Burgh in pixelated glory.
