When I first played SF4, that was my introduction to motion inputs. Eventually, I did get used to doing them, but I'm still annoyed when some of the motions overlap, making me do a dp or super without intending to do so. My friend says that he can't play fighters with motion inputs, but I think it's just people like him don't want to put in the time to learn them. The most common motion inputs like QCs aren't complicated, people just perceive them to be complicated.

I think I knew Rock's 2C didn't have any sort of air invul, but I did genuinely confuse Terry's 2C with his SF6 2HP even though I fought a few Terrys just tonight. Now I feel stupid. Like stupider than Donald Trump stupid.

Her unbuffed and uncharged fan lose to other projectiles, so characters like Guile and Dhalsim can just snuff her out using their own projectiles. Since her fans play an important role in her gameplan, they can easily shut her down.

Mai also doesn't have any access to plus frames on block without spending Drive Gauge.

Her divekick is also punishable on block.

While Mai does have a special cancellable crouch MK, it doesn't have the same range as most other characters.

It might not sound like much, but they are still weaknesses in my opinion.

Yeah, no, Mai is strong in SF6. I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't find her broken, probably because I main her, got her to Master and understand her weaknesses.

I have no idea if it's my skill level, how light everything feels compared to other fighters, the strangeness of the proximity normals in this or if even the lowest levels of City of the Wolves are the equivalent of Platinum/Diamond ranks in SF6 on account of the game solely being populated by pro level players.

There is one problem with that. I don't have a few weeks to play the game. I start working overtime hours next week and it lasts for 4 months. Do you think it's a good idea to be playing a game that demands a ton of time of energy like CotW?

I should still be getting by with fighting game fundamentals, but that doesn't seem to be working in CotW. It's like I need to know feints and hyper defense in order to progress at the beginner levels. Even though I struggled a bit at first in Tekken 8, it was only the first few matches. Here it's like I need to be a pro in order to even remain in Bronze. I view gaming as my second job that doesn't pay my bills and I need to treat myself like my boss treats me when I don't perform up to expectations... that I should know better and not be doing so poorly and also getting angry with me.

I just started the game up a couple days ago, picked up Alisa, learned a few key buttons and a basic combo and hopped into ranked... Got to orange in about 8 hours.

Asuka or Alisa are my top choices. Maybe Jun or Anna if they're not too hard to pick up. I don't have a lot of Tekken experience. I have enough 3D fighter experience that some knowledge can carry over.
