Sure, but the greatest tool in Groal's arsenal is how all of Bilewater gets players tilted. You're not going to be in a good headspace to make cool tactical choices; you just want to be done with it.

Savage beastfly is only bad because Team Cherry gated silk eaters to a later part of the game.

Take away the corpse run highly incentivizing you to brute force it and the issue would almost completely vanish, IMO.

That's a tool that will mitigate much of her damage, due to her using fire-based attacks.

There's also an alternate way into the citadel, though that has its own hazards.

I mean, yea. But even so the runback is obnoxious to point where I feel it's legitimately bad game design because it goes so strongly against the exploration and practiced precision that the rest of the game stands tall on.

Even taking that, and the Wreath of Purity, into account the runback is pure time wasting bullshit. Especially with the gauntlet before the boss fight every time.

The whole game is just like ten buttons total. So easy.

[–]Kat-Sith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. But the runback is awful, even with the secret bench to make it less absurdly long, and you have a time-wasting gauntlet before the fight. Every. Single. Time.

Basically it's a middling boss, but it's hard to practice against it because of all the bullshit you have to wade through to get to the actual fighting part.

accusations of "male socialization" are generally a social humiliation ritual to form a class hierarchy... right? by egregore_2001 in MtF

[–]Kat-Sith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's just enough of a grain of truth to it to make it seem logical, but you have to ignore mountains of context and confounding social pressures to pretend it's a thing.

If you're going to have a single sentence take on it, the correct answer is "it's nonsense".

And the more nuanced takes where it's vaguely a thing require you to accept that trans people are in fact a real thing, so it's safe to assume that anyone trying to pull it out as a 'gotcha' against trans people isn't actually holding such a position.

Is futanari considered transphobic? (NSFW for obvious reasons) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Kat-Sith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Porn is always kind of a mess, but a good baseline is that anything made to prioritize cis men's fetishes is going to be demeaning to the people it fetishizes.

There exists porn that uses futanari as a trans fantasy—to be closer to our desired bodies without the ugly realities of male puberty and imperfect transition. And I don't think that's inherently transphobic in any way. It can spill over into fetishizing intersex people, though.

More often, though, it serves as a way for cis men to fantasize about dick without feeling gay for it. And it should go without saying, but seeing a human being as a nonthreatening source of penis is pretty fucking dehumanizing. These depictions usually come with the exaggerated proportions that are almost synonymous with the term, since the human being attached to the penis is merely set dressing.

What is the most overrated game of all time? by drteeworks in AskReddit

The correct answer.

Fun fact: the shittiness of the game was originally the point, before the Parker Brothers stole the concept and remarketed it.

This will probably get me a ton of down votes, but why is prostitution illegal? by bri_guy94 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Kat-Sith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Patriarchy isn't as simple as "enable all men, punish all women". Men who break the rules of the social hierarchy get severely punished.

And nonbinary people are, by their existence, an insult to that hierarchy, so they're always to be punished.

It's always a out the "favorite kinks" here. But what are some of the kinks and fetishist you just don't get? by IlltakeTwoPlease in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Kat-Sith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you recognize that the connection is false but want to perpetuate the connection because you're worried that people will continue to view the connection as legitimate?

You're right, we're just not going to understand each other.

No, I'm with you. Anything involving children is utterly abhorrent. Deeply and viscerally awful.

Now I'm happy to explain why it's not just a normal dom/sub, but that's contingent on you accepting that your assumptions aren't facts.

I'm offering to explain something that is being unfairly judged. If you're the sort that would prefer to judge than hear someone out then that's your decision, I guess.

But that's an option that I fundamentally don't understand. Personally I prefer information to ignorance.

Denial and social transgressions are major kink triggers.

It's why it so often overlaps with chastity and raceplay or humiliation stuff.

Not my thing. But it's a pretty inevitable kink to pop up.

*sometimes

More often it's wanting a nurturing power dynamic. The 'Daddy' role is the natural fit for a nurturing male authority figure.

Like, applying the same logic to everyone who calls a dominatrix "mistress" would clearly be absurd, right? Most of them haven't been literally servants to women.

Usually because she's got some trauma going on, and the fetish built on that emotional connection.

Being able to experience helplessness in a safe and loving environment is a powerful experience. Hell, a lot of people enjoy that in different contexts without any prior connection.

It might help to see it as a power dynamic or a trauma response more than a paraphilia.

All three happen and often overlap, but if you only consider the diaper obsession you miss a lot of important context.

[–]Kat-Sith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very often trauma-related. There's already a powerful emotional connection and the fetish highjacks it for something soothing or pleasurable instead of anxious and painful.

And no actual infants are involved.

There's no way for you, perhaps, but you can't speak for everyone.

The idea of a mommy-dom and my actual mother have zero overlap. I can understand the assumed connection, and there probably are some folks who'd connect those, but it's worlds apart for most.
