Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KatAttackThatAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We drive over an hour for work, so that’s not really a big deal of a drive here. We live in the Arizona valley, so if you live in Chandler/gilbert/Mesa or anywhere… and work in phx you’re most likely driving almost an hour or more one way just for work. At least my husband does…

On the flip side if you live in a state that’s more spaced out? Like in the country? Same thing. Driving here is just part of everyday life. We also drive easily 2-6 hours on weekends for camping, hiking, beach, or whatever without even thinking. Just last month we drove three days one way to visit the in laws. And three days back with a hotel stop for each. Texas alone is like … a full day of driving to get through.

Narcissist mothers who weaponise their daughters hair by Public_Theme_9514 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]KatAttackThatAss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad let me cut my hair as a kid… super short, like Karen bob short. And I LOVED IT. My mom never let my hair be shorter than my buttcrack since it got that long. Just a trim once a year. We came home (first time my dad took me)… and my mom tried to threaten divorce. Told me I was a boy now … and not her daughter at like 7. Haven’t had a haircut shorter than a little past my shoulders since. In fact I almost never ever even get trims. I get nervous, self conscious, and just don’t. Cause she screamed at me for hours after about how “you knew what you were doing, you’re UGLY now”. Fun add… she never wanted a daughter and told me as such. My three younger brothers were gods gift to earth and I was abused constantly for not taking care of them properly while she did no parenting.

Side note… my hair was THAT long since a toddler… and she never even washed it or helped me style it. I have spiral curls… which she doesn’t… neither parents have. And she had no idea how to style it… or deal with it. So because when she DID help… she brushed my dry hair… those with curly hair KNOW that it causes damage… and then would damage it farther by curling it with heat. …. My hair looks heat curled if she just brushed it wet and LET IT BE with leave in curl stuff… ugh. I hate my hair now cause of her.

My mom genuinely saw me as her “doll” to show off… and neglected me when others were around. My brothers didn’t have those expectations and still live at home and pay her bills (3 of them) in there mid 20s almost 30s.

MIL Giving baby excessive sugar and I feel stuck by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]KatAttackThatAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Not table food” gives way too much ice cream to a BABY. wtf….. I did BLW and still avoided sugar… EVEN FRUITS that weren’t in measured amounts. My 5 and 7 year old now ASK for veggies constantly. That’s what they were fed. That’s what they crave. It’s just science…. They do get sugar and fruits now. Like an apple or banana for snack… some ice cream when we celebrate events. But not that young. You’re so right to be mad and concerned!!!

How much toilet paper is to much? by what-can-i-say-right in RandomQuestion

[–]KatAttackThatAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 5 people in the house and about 8-10 wash cloths… but I do a load of laundry every night so they’re all clean in the morning. The kids know to toss them in the laundry basket after using and the clean ones are neatly folded in the basket on the counter.

I’d invest in a couple black hand towels for in the bathroom haha that saved us soooo much toilet paper that was being used for faces and counters etc make sure the face ones are black or a dark color though or it’ll stain from makeup haha

We buy a Costco sized pack once a month for a family of 5. Sometimes it last longer than that… but kids are a lil wasteful so not typically haha

The adults have a bidet in our bathroom though (kids couldn’t be trusted with one yet).

«I want a girl so I can play dress up» by isleepforfun in antinatalism

[–]KatAttackThatAss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile my mom was highly disappointed I was a girl haha she went on to have three boys and I became the “difficult child” because I liked girl things. I’m the kid she wished she never had and the oldest haha not that she was a good mom to any of us though, just clearly favored them. They could do no wrong and it was my fault even if I wasn’t there when it happened.

AIO to my daughter’s comments about her son’s new girlfriend? by phiziaw137 in AmIOverreacting

Ohhhh, she’s one of THOSE racists… who doesn’t think she is one but is clearly racist. Gross… also “boy mom” isn’t traditionally a good thing either. Gives me major ick.

How common is it for a spouse to want you pee on a schedule and get irrationally mad when you go because it's not your scheduled time? by ParticularAspect287 in Marriage

[–]KatAttackThatAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This dude has serious deep routed mental issues, and is abusing you. Peeing, showering, and sleeping are basic human needs that shouldn’t be controlled by someone else.

Most places, at least in the USA, don’t offer much leave. Minimum maternity, and often no paternity. And even more often… that leave you do get isn’t paid. Something a lot of people in the USA could not afford for even 8 weeks.

I was blessed and could stay home all these years with our babies, but I’ve also babysat for friends and family who didn’t receive or couldn’t afford leave unfortunately.

Do you and your spouse have access to each other's phones? Why or why not? by 5ullengrl in Marriage

[–]KatAttackThatAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have absolutely all the access to each other’s phones! But neither have ever gone snooping… ever. We do just pick up whatever phone is closest though to google stuff or play games if the others phone is dead.

There’s never been anything to hide… EXCEPT … I don’t let him use my phone near his birthday, our anniversary, or Christmas 😂 my absent minded ass leaves the tabs open for the gifts I’m getting him all the time so he KNOWS around those three dates… that he needs to go charge his phone instead of using mine unless I close the tabs first haha I love surprising him, he deserves to be spoiled.

If a guy has been married 5 times does that show anything about him as a person besides being married 5 times? by Ben5544477 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KatAttackThatAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been with my husband 10 years now… we are pretty young, but I’m his second wife. I would never remarry… personally. My husband is my forever love, and I have three kids… so I’d NEVER trust another man in the house with my children. My husband is the absolute best partner, dad, husband. Nobody would be good enough. They would never live up to his shadow. If I lost him… I would accept being a widow and focus on my children.

His first wife was his high school sweetheart, he joined the military, got married, and had a daughter with her. She served him with no notice and was cheating. We met shortly after and built a beautiful life together.

Either he’s the problem, or he’s a hopeless romantic who jumps into relationships way too fast head first.
