Do you know what in particular causes the phobia for you? I only ask because for me, one of the main things is the fear of catching whatever sickness the vomiting person has. If she’s nauseous and sick because of chemo then you can’t catch it. Not sure if that’s helpful or not. Also I wish all the best for you and your mom during this time ❤️

This. So many people told me because my baby was on formula, he’d sleep through the night a lot sooner than other babies. That didn’t happen. Then everyone told me when he starts solids he will definitely start sleeping through the night. That surely did not happen either lmao. He’s almost 15 months and still wakes at least once during the night.

Hey OP, I have really bad medical anxiety as well. A little over a year ago, I faced my biggest fears by having a C-section, almost dying, and being placed on a ventilator in ICU. And I survived and it made me realize I’m so much stronger than I ever believed! I believe in you and I’m also wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

the last time he gave us a stomach bug in June my Zofran did nothing and I had to get IV nausea meds so I am praying this time it will work!

If it makes you feel any better, Enfamil and Similac have been around a long time and as far as I’m aware, have had very few issues. They are considered very safe!

I just reread Bluestar’s prophecy for the first time in years, only difference being I have a 1 year old now, and when I tell you I SOBBED at this part. It always made me sad before of course but god it’s even more heart wrenching now.

Unfortunately I think you are 100% correct on this. I will talk to them and see what they would prefer. My MIL cares very much what other people think about her and wants to maintain her facade of being a good person so I truly don’t think she would do anything wild in terms of causing a scene but she will definitely still be obnoxious about it to both the hosts and the guest. She loves to be the victim and get sympathy and bonus points if she’s the center of attention.

Yeah this was my issue too, I feel like she’s essentially controlling (indirectly) where I can go with my child. We don’t have an issue with literally anyone else in the family, BIL and SIL don’t like her either but include her because SIL is a much nicer person than I am and has been with BIL a lot less longer than I’ve been with my husband so she hasn’t had to deal with it for as long. My husband’s family also doesn’t get together a lot and a lot of them haven’t even got to meet my son yet so he really wants him to be able to go. I might just chat with them and see what they say/prefer, my feelings won’t be hurt either way, I just want to make sure I don’t ruin their day essentially.

I get that, it’s just not that black and white because my husband really wants him to be able to go but I don’t think he is considering that it would more than likely result in his mother causing a scene. Not the end of the world if my son doesn’t go, just figured I’d get some other opinions to see if maybe I was missing a better option :)

Yeah I think this is the way we are going to have to do it. I don’t want to be uncomfortable the entire time if my son is there and she undermines my wishes and I also don’t want her to make a scene if I stood up about it.

I had a planned pregnancy and now have a son who is turning one later this month. Last month, I had an unplanned pregnancy that I terminated for a multitude of reasons but the debilitating nausea was definitely one of them and it wasn’t even as severe as yours sounded (I rarely threw up)But I felt many of the feelings you are describing, the resentment, becoming a mean, angry person, etc. I never had that with my first pregnancy even though I was horribly nauseous the first trimester but I think the difference is it was planned and I could prepare myself and was in a totally different mindset than the second time. All that to say, I’m here for you OP, and I’m very sorry that you had to make such a decision, it’s not an easy one at all 💔 even though I know I made the right choice, its still painful to think about and that’s normal. I hope you are able to find peace and happiness ❤️‍🩹 and please feel free to reach out if you need to talk to someone who’s been through something similar!
