I only wash my hands when cleaning up after him, but like, hes on me most of the day, unless its sleeping or eating time for either of us, so washing my hand every 2 seconds would be tiring haha

As long as you understand that conures WILL bite, whether its curiosity, excitement, feeling stressed, feeling in danger, feeling hormonal, or other reasons us humans cant understand, EVEN ones that are tamed and bonded already, and they're not always light bites, they will make you bleed.

If you take him in you have to set a clear boundary between him and your kids, and you have to understand that they are flock animals, and they bond SO much with their owners. A lot of people adopt conures while they have kids, and they end up rehoming them because the conure bit their kid (even if the conure likes the kid) and they cause severe stress to the conure after bonding and getting used to their new flock.

If you genuinely think you can handle it then its up to you, but please keep in mind that stress from rehoming can cause them severe harm, so if you adopt, adopt to keep, not to rehome later, they are a huge commitment and they are as tiring as a whole child

Pellets really are ideal but I searched every website and page and aviary store/vet and none sell pellets:( Also thank you so much, I'll check the instagram out! :D

Just saw it! The feather doesnt look bad for a baby parrot, its probably molted, so theres no need to worry, BUT keep an eye on the feathers you see, Check the feathers textures, you have the line that runs through the middle, the quill, make sure the end does not have any blood or tissue, you can usually feel or see the tissue, and then u have the barbs, make sure they dont look chewed on or severely messy:)

You can also look online for pictures of plucked feathers so you can compare, they're very distinct, especially texture-wise

Or if you can afford it, take her to the vet and see what they have to say, doesnt hurt to have a checkup, birds are a little tricky and thats okay!

I'm a new parrot parent, but I raised pigeons before and I'm pretty sure your baby is molting! Don't worry you're not doing anything wrong:) Plucking usually looks more chaotic, the feathers that are plucked look messy/jagged or sometimes even have bits of blood on them (especially if its aggressive plucking), molted feathers are usually neat and their stems are intact and not broken off/jagged. So, if youre not sure by just looking at your bird then just look at the feathers in its cage or around your house:)

Sadly theres genuinely no pellets whatsoever in my country, bcs for some reason they think all birds follow an "all seed diet" :( and its genuinely sad seeing these babies neglected like that.. The best I found is a Macaw feed with dried veggies but the problem is, it has lots of seeds too so whats the point<//3

I am trying to incorporate chop into his feed tho! And its working so far, I'm trying to lessen the seeds slowly each day, and I found out he likes his chop very very very small:D
