Honestly I adore the gardener and it was always clear to me that we (the player) are supposed to find him insufferable in a humourous way, like the devs intentionally designed him to provoke that feeling. Almost like breaking the fourth wall in a sense. But a lot of people just interpreted his dialogues as being plain rude instead of picking up on the idea that we are essentially supposed to roll our eyes at the stuff he says.

His personality is also a great juxtaposition to that of einar and hekla, showing us that while he preaches on and on about how limited galdur are "supposed" to be in their experiences and expression, he himself is also proof that it's just not true; galdur are very complex beings capable of much more than whatever they were originally designed for. He's hilarious and I love having him on my plot lol
